Let me start by saying, I did not listen to all those bad reviews and still went to went to Dr. negoms. This is my story..
My mouth was a whole mess before I came to this office I found Dr. to be very Knowledgeble gave me a good advice, good explanation of the choices availeble to me. He had completed a full mouth reconstruction in less that one month and also allowed me to make 3 payments.
Highly recommend this place.

My story is awful and I feel compelled to write it and make other's aware of this shisty dentist.

My insurance changed so we have to see another dentist, I scheduled with Dr. Negom's office appointments for teeth cleanings for my Husband, two children and myself. My husband goes in first to get his teeth cleaned and to speak with the Dr. about having a tooth pulled down that never came down. After an embarrasing teeth cleaning, water all over his face, lips pulled over his head etc. he speaks with Dr. Negom about his tooth, the Dr. preceeds to tell him "I can do that, the cost will be $900.00 if you do it today and $1,200.00 if you come back another day." My husband thought that was strange and told him "I will have to schedule it, I don't have the cash today." Never telling me about this incident, I take the kids and myself to our appointments. The kids go back and as soon as they go back they are out! I am thinking "WOW, that was fast."

They call me back and do a set a x-rays and I have a 3 minute teeth cleaning as well. In the process of the receptionist (hispanic, heavy set gal) that was up from when we checked in cleaning my teeth, spraying me with water cause the hose is giving her problem; I am thinking, this is strange, all my other teeth cleaning (which I go every 4 months) have been alot more detailed. With the cleaning being complete, the Dr. comes in and looks in my mouth and at my x-rays, he tells me "you have to remove this Wisdom tooth, it is going to cause you problems, its impacted and in a terrible place this will affect your bite and your jaw" I make the appontment, now that he has me scared my teeth are going to shift and I will have issues with my jaw etc.

Long story short, I go to have my tooth pulled, he numbs my mouth and starts a long and painfull procedure. My body is in shock, my legs and arms are shaking uncontrollably. I tell him I feel the pain and he tells me "you feel pressure, NOT pain." After and hour of sawing my tooth out, he puts a piece of gauze in there and sends me on my way. No pain meds, no antibiotic, never cleaned the surgery area and did not pack the hole. Four days later I go back to Dr. Negom as I am in extreme pain and the entire right side of my faces is swollen, he says I have a dry socket (ouch) and he blast some water in there and packs it. With the pain still extremely intense, I go back to my prior Dr. of 9 years (Dr. Mansilla) pay cash for the appointment and she takes an x-ray and does an exam. I have severe nerve damage and he has damage the exisiting tooth next to the removed wisdom tooth, she refers me to an Oral Surgeon as she thinks he may have broke my jaw.

I make the appointment with an Oral Surgeon and he takes another set of x-rays and finds out that I have a piece of my jaw bone floating around in there and it is casuing my body to not heal the area as my body is naturally trying to remove this foreign piece of bone and that I have to go under and have surgery to remove it. Both the Oral Surgeon and my regular Dentist tell me that my Wisdom tooth was fine and should have never been removed in the first place and should I have choosen to have it removed it should have been done with an Oral Surgeon.

Basics of my story is that Dr. Negom will tell you that you need dental work when you really don't. Peform dental work on you that he is not educated to do and have the receptionist clean your teeth.

BEWARE HE IS A CROOK and so aggressive and rude, you will be in extreme pain if you allow him to perform any work on you!!!!!!!

I've called Dr. Negom on a Sat. afternoon when I was in extreme pain after I went to the emergency room where they told me that I had to see a dentist cause is nothing they can do, they gave me some pain killers that did not do much. When I called Dr. Negom it was a voice mail machine that provided a cell phone number. I did not have much hope but I tried to call that number not only i was able to talk to this guy that day, but he came to the office to see me and was able to get me out of pain. Ever since I brought my wife and daughter.

Im a woman in my late 50's and had been sufering from acid reflux for many years. All my front upper teeth were damage because of it. I have been going to 2 dentist in the area that were quoting me abnormal amounts of money to pull my teeth and put me on plates. Dr. Negom was able to fix all my teeth and put me on crowns that match the same color as my other teeth for half the price I was given prior. God bless him for taking my pain and raising my self esteem. I have reffered all friends and relatives to Dr. Negom. Thank You!

Well My story with these people was pretty long and terrible, but to see other peoples issues as well it makes me feel a bit better that it wasnt just me with issues.

The main issue with this doctor I had was his receptionist staff and his availability. So I went to the first cleaning no problem, but they supposedly found 5 cavities and said my wisdom teeth needed to be taken out.
So I set up an appointment, and they were going to call me about my insurance coverage and confirm my appointment. NEITHER HAPPENED, so I called them and they said they hadnt checked my insurance so I had to reschedule. Meaning I missed school classes for no reason.
I rescheduled, and this time they did call before the appointment but not to confirm but rather cancel my appointment as the doctor had to leave for some reason and only gave me a date nearly three weeks later.
Now they NEVER called me back to confirm my appointment any time before, so I called them THE DAY OF the appointment only to hear that they didnt schedule me for the time they took me. And the scheduled time was during a TEST. So I said that I had a TEST then and a confirmation call would have been nice.
SO this receptionist must have taken my tone and just assumed I wouldnt be going, but I pushed the test back with some hard work and went in anyways as all these supposed cavities where concerning me.
I get in there and they say they canceled my appointment. So 2 months later from my orginial scheduled date I still cant get in and now the wait is another 2 weeks.
So now I contest my cancelled appointment and the idiotic receptionist who canceled it is gone, and the Doctor processed to KICK ME OUT like a complete jerk at a drop of a dime before I do anything upsetting, just calming questioning the issue. Thankfully their was a nice receptionist that transferred my info another doctor of my choosing. And my new doctor is AMAZING after a few visits to determine.

By the way. My current dentist refuted the diagnosis of Negom saying I had only 3 cavities and my wisdom teeth where fine. 6 months later and no problems. Seems Negom just wanted the extra money for the work. Kicking a patient out so quickly isnt a very good way to get ANY money tho.
Honesly after reading all the other reviews and my experience. I hope Dr. Negoms practice goes under and the nice receptionist gets a nice job somewhere else.
More things to say about Negom but I dont have the time.
JUST DONT GO THERE

Pros: 1 Nice Receptionist

Cons: Everyone Else was Horrible

I went to this dentist as a new patient & they took 4 films. I thought it was the whole mouth, stupid me. He said I needed 5 crowns & a filling.

Three of the crowns would be where I currently have a bridge with a false tooth in the middle. He said there was decay under the bridge because it was not flush to my gumline. Another crown on a bottom molar that he said would be hard to fill. Another crown on top next to the two front teeth that has an overlay. The girl polished my teeth, didn't have time to scale them so I had to make another appointment. By the way, the ofice person didn't have time to type in & give me the "plan." She said she would give it to me when I came back.

My portion of the cost would be $2900 but they could give me a discount of $700 to a total of $2200 out of pocket but I had to decide in the next couple of days. I was shocked because I visit the dentist regularly & no other dentist found decay or horrible problems with my teeth. I also don't appreciate pressure.

I went to another dentist, after checking up on this guy on this website (thank you!), where they took FULL mouth xrays & guess what?? No cavities, no problems! They also had a hygenist who thoroughly cleaned my teeth.

It is a sin that even a dentist can't be trusted today. I am sure he has bilked many people but thanks to this web site, not me. I aslo reported him to the insurance company & plan on reporting him to whatever authority governs dentists.

This dentist also has an office in Lancaster.

Dr. Negom stated he could fix my dental problem for $2,000 up front if I would agree to have him do "the work". In great pain, and after I gave the gal at the desk my insurance info, I let him change my credit card. He could not find the source of my pain after drilling and refilling a few teeth, taking out a bride. Dr. stated he does not do root canals, thinking it must be the problem, he was sending me to another Dr. in Santa Barbra. I let him know that he has the only funds in his account that I have for my teeth. He stated no proublems...he would pay the Dr. I went to the new Dr. and yes a root canal was needed and she could do it that day. After a call back to Dr. Negom where he denied to pay the Dr., I payed her fee of $95 and still in pain went back to Dr. Negom. He gave me another appointment for the next week. Before that appointment the office called cancleing that one and giving me another in a weeks time. He would have a new "machine"? to do my root canal.....but this would be free and I would be the only one in the office! STILL IN PAIN.......I called my dental insurance for another dr. We found out that he was sending in for payment to the insurance and on top of that charging me full price! He is a terrible Doctor!! After MetLife got hold of him, Dr. Negom had to refund me a large portion of my money he had held. The rest we found out was charges of work HE DID NOT DO!!!
Not only is he a poor Doctor, he is a cheat! Beware

First, before you read anything else I can not stress enough how great a dentist Dr. Negom is. He is very kind, he listens, he knows exactly what he is doing and the office is very clean.

I had a root canal done and several fillings. I am not happy with the way I was treated nor am I pleased with the results. I am still in pain months after treatment. They were dishonest from day one and I should have known better than to go there again. They ended up charging me twice for xrays, they put in my bill that I had my teeth cleaned when I had not, they opened my tooth, put a temporary filling in and charged me MORE money than I would have been charged if I had a regular white filling. Now, even though my bill was paid in full up front, I owe them for a filling. They have cheated me and ripped me off in more ways than one and I am so angry that someone else has to pick up after them AND that I have to pay more than $1,850. They owe me a filling in my opinion but when I went to the office to pick up the paperwork they had the audacity to change and add procedures that I did not receive but had to pay for.

I was told that they were "kindly" not going to charge me the extra money by the secretary, Anna, then when we got there to compare my original "Paid in Full" itemized statement with the "new" bill (new bill?? What the heck?), Anna got angry because she was confused and frustrated about the xray bill and decided to change her mind about not charging me the extra money. Like it was optional in the first place.

I am now going to Dr. Moore in Cayucos. He is incredible, excellent, wonderful and above all, he is honest. His wife runs the front and even though they are just a little more expensive, I can tell you that he has morals and doesn't change his mind every 10 minutes.
