I don't know why I put up with it for so long. They are the worst ever in customer service and follow through. They never call back, or if they do and you miss them, it takes days to get them to call back again. We have to hound them to

She is always 40+plus minutes late, then acts annoyed at you for seeming impatient with her even though you have other things to do then wait in a patient room and stare at wallpaper for almost an hour. She overall has a rude tone of voice and tells me to work out and not drink coffee but yet she is out of shape and drink 8+cups a day. Doctors should be role models, they should be example human beings at least somewhat. Find a different doctor.

Never had a problem filling a prescription until this doctor. Staff would not verify meds with my insurance formulary, and everytime I'd go to fill a prescription it would be denied. Both staff and Dr. Merzenich informed me that they cannot be held responsible for difficult HMOs. I relaize the HMO is the cause of the problem; however, every doctor I've had before and since checks that what they are prescribing me is something I can actually get filled at the pharmacy. I got so fed up with this, was trying to get meds filled on a Sat, and called her answering service to get it straightened out then and there. Dr Merzenich called me back hours later, and was less than polite. After that, I pulled my family away from her practice. Went to Dr. Gil Holland in Chander, and have been there ever since. Not once have I had any probelm filling a prescription - and guess what? Still have that same old HMO! Holland's office doesn't seem to have a problem with it! :)

I also have been going to Dr. M for about 8 years now, as a matter of fact, my whole family goes with the exception of my husband. I have always liked Dr. Merzenich, found that when you get to see her she is thorough, spends time talking and tells you like it is, straight to the point. UNFORTUNATELY, her office staff leaves little to be happy with. I have been spoken to rudely many times, I have asked to have someone return my call and no one ever does, have been billed incorrectly and then told it was MY problem, have had lab tests lost mainly because they misspelled my last name, the list is endless. As a business owner, I realize that my reputation also encompasses those that I have employed. It is truly a shame that she has personnel that surround her that evoke the complaints that you find here. She most likely doesn't get to hear about those complaints as they are probably filtered by the very people we are talking about. I have stayed only because I do not need to see her too often and therefore don't have the interaction with the office as others do. I have on one occasion spoken to the owner of the practice, James, and was able to voice my dissatisfaction. I found out today that there has been an almost complete change in the office personnel, however on my phone call I was again spoken rudely to. I see the cycle hasn't changed....

This is the most DISorganized M.D.'s office I've ever experienced; have been going here 6 years. I'm 56, so I've been to lots of doctors in two states, and have even worked in some. They lose lab reports, notes, etc. all the time. I sometimes am given lab results verbally, but most often am just told to do something, take some med, etc. It would be professional for me to be given a copy (or link) to allow me to follow my lab results since I have some chronic conditions. It is often unclear when I need to do blood tests or make consultation appointments (I have to make the trip down there only for a brief talk).. . .You can rarely get anyone on the phone to discuss whether you need medical treatment (and can never do phone consultation with Dr. M). Sometimes when I call during what they say are regular business hours, no one answers. . . I could go on . . .My husband has been trying to get me to change doctors because I complain so much, and I plan to look since my work has Open Insurance Season now.

As the previous review said, Dr. Merzenich is great and really takes time. However, her staff can be rude and uncaring. Shawna is great but Nicole is rude.

Dr. Merzenich is a wonderful family doctor. She does a thorough job of trying to get to the root of any ache, pain or problem you have. She is not one of these "I can only spend 15 minutes with you, then I need to get to my next patient" kind of doctor. She takes as long as necessary with her patients. She gets to know her patients and can carry on great conversation (because she knows you and your family). She also listens to and reacts to any complaints you may have about her or any of her staff. This is truly a great practice.
