My kids absolutely love her! I never thought that I'd be able to say that about a pediatric dentist!

We decided to use this dentist because it was one of the few in town that accepted our form of insurance. During our initial visit the dentist was very nice and thorough, but her office staff was terrible. When my daughter needed dental work, she was given a sedative that wore off too soon and I could hear her screaming as they finished the procedure. A few months later, we needed to schedule an emergency appointment on a Thursday afternoon and we were informed the doctor had already left for the day, even though it was not quite 3pm! We were told we could come back Monday. We have since switched to Millhopper Family Dentistry. They were able to get my daughter in that day and they didn't even charge us for the office visit!

I took my children to this dentist and she was wonderful. My son was very scared and she took the time to talk to him and try to calm him down. He responded to her caring ways and did calm down. I felt as if she was knowledgeable and cared about what I wanted for my children. I chose this dentist because she allowed me to be in the room with my children and many dentists that accept Medicaid do not allow this and while I do understand why they might not want the parent in the room, there is no way anyone is going to do anything to my child without me being there to authorize it. The office was nice and clean. I didn't have to wait long to be seen either, which was a nice surprise. My only complaint is that they were supposed to call me to schedule the next appt's for my children and they didn't. I actually forgot about it so now we are late for our next cleaning. Other than that small inconvenience, I am very happy with this dentist. As for the other reviewer who is complaining that this dentist won't schedule any more app'ts due to the 2 missed ones, I can see the reviewers point but I also know that these dentists barely make any money from Medicaid patients so if I were a dentist I would strict about my no missed app'ts policy also. Every missed appointment without notice is lost revenue and they have to pay their bills also. rent, employees, utilities etc. I also have fostered children and in this reviewers case the county agency who is handling the foster children should have seen to it that the children kept this appointment even if they were not with the foster home who scheduled it. The foster parent could actually complain to the G.A.L. if an appointment was set and not kept as that is not in the best interest of the children. I agree with the reviewer that it is very hard to find a decent dentist who accepts Medicaid.

I am a Foster Parent, As many may know - it isn't easy finding a dentist to take Medicaid. This dentist does. I called and got an appointment for 8 weeks out 6/5/08 @ 10:30- earliest they had. During that time the children where moved due to a FALSE abuse claim called in on my house- That is a whole other battle- So I told the case worker about the appointments. On 6/3/08 @ 1:30 pm *I had tried earlier but could not get an answer*I thought I had better call them (as a courtesy) to let them know the uncertainty that the boy's would make the appointment. Explaining that I had no control over it at this point. One of the boy's was placed back with me so I called to make an appointment, They have banned me due to 2 missed appointments they have a 48 hr cancellation policy and I missed it by 3 hours!! I ask the person to plead my case to the Dentist to explain the issue, the Dentist said NO. I asked If I could talk with the Dentist, I even offered to pay out of my own pocket the Missed appointment fee. I held for the Dentist. No response.
I guess I am luck I found out before I got there how arrogant a practice it is. I hope karma truly reflects back on her.
