The WORST patient experience I have ever had in my whole life.
Am a nurse with 15 years of experience at some of the finest teaching hospitals in the country and was appalled by the disrespectful manner in which I was treated at this office.
Made an appointment for 8am for an evaluation of possible cancerous skin lesion. Am new to SoCal and found his name online. I showed up on time for my 8am appointment. FOUR patients came in after me and were seen before me. I was confused and a little upset when I approached the medical assistant at the desk at 8:50 to clarify my appointment time. Only then did she mumble an apology and put me into an exam room where I waited patiently until 9:15 before the doctor entered the exam room without extending any apology for the prolonged wait time. He did not introduce himself, he immediately turned his back to me to review the medical history form I completed. Or he could have introduced himself and asked me. With his back still turned from me, he told me to lie down on the exam table and after the briefest of exams, he stated that the lesion looked highly suspicious for cancer and wanted to know why I had not attempted to seek an eval sooner. I explained that I indeed procrastinated a bit because I was preoccupied with our daughter's health issues and that she had just passed away a few months ago. I did, however, get an opinion from a primary physician in LA first who recommended a dermatology consult and I needed help. He again chastised and asked me rather abruptly, "Well do you want a biopsy or not?" When I attempted to discuss the biopsy procedure and possible treament options he was not forthcoming with any information. "Do what you want to do," and then he escorted me out toward the waiting room. Needless to say, I will not be returning.
