My level of satisfaction with Dr. Hudson is way over the top! My experience with him and his office has been extraordinary.

Prior to my first visit, his office sent me a questionnaire that was more detailed, and included more requests for my personal, anecdotal information than I think any other Dr. has ever been interested enough to find out. It even included the question, "What do YOU think is the problem?" I am comforted that he cares enough to know his patients in detail, not just address their ailments.

When I arrived for my first visit, the office was tidy and uncluttered, not a lot of people "waiting, waiting, waiting..." as some Dr.'s will do by overbooking. The staff greeted me warmly, and the reception room was clean and homey, with plenty of interesting reading material. I waited less than 10 minutes (probably more like 5) to see the Dr.

The consultation room featured a comfy reclining chair for patients to sit in. What a nice thing, for someone with arthritis! During my hour-long visit, I was with the Dr. close to the whole time. I mean it -- like 59 minutes!! He did leave the room one time to get something *for me*. He spoke to me as a person more than a patient (what a concept!), and seemed to value the process this disease has taken with me over the years.

Dr. Hudson was very knowledgeable about my particular form of arthritis, something that can't be said for rheumatologists across the board, sadly (I can attest by personal experience). At no time did I feel that he was talking "over my head," or patronizing. I did learn from him a thing or two regarding new technology and treatments, though, and am encouraged that he is not afraid to try whatever I think might work for me.

Dr. Hudson's office has been exceptionally helpful to me, sorting out what needs to happen with my insurance company, as well. I find it uncommon in the medical field as a whole, and very refreshing, to do business with people who seem to genuinely care about me and are willing to assist outside of the office visit.

I give Dr. Hudson and his office the highest possible rating, and would absolutely recommend him to anyone in need of a Rheumatologist.

I was diagnosed with sarciodosis in 1998, and was sent to Dr. Hudson. When i first saw him I could barely make it from the parking lot into his office. he spent the next next 6-7 years working with me on this problem. we attacked it with numerous types of drugs. By the time I left Oregon in 2005, we had gotten me down to 30mgs of prednisone and several pain mang. drugs. I now live in new Mexico and can tend my small ranch. i may be slow but at least i have a life. I can never say thank you enough.

He was able to spend a good amount of time in appointments, but I never felt particularly welcomed in the office. He listened carefully, but I felt dismissed because my symptoms were too vague for diagnosis. There was no communication of possible causes, seemingly just to say, "don't worry, it's not this and it's not that, so carry on with your life."

Of course, every physician-patient relationship is different...once diagnosed, his case management may be excellent, but we never got to that point.
