Treats patients and parents like they are idiots. Accuses children of faking symptoms, only to have problems worsen that he says weren't there. He should not be practicing medicine. Does not pick up on the most glaring examples of impaired development in children, leading to late diagnosis of Autism. More interested in pushing his politics than properly treating patients.

I just recently received a bill from Dr. Barimos office. The office staff is so courteous and are definately there to help you with anything you need. I am a single mom, without a job and could not pay my whole bill right away so I called and spoke with the billing lady. She was so comforting by letting me know that they accepted payments, as much as I could give when I can. In this economy, usually people scream at you for $ right away. I felt so blessed to have such an understanding doctors office in my corner. I definately reccommend this doctors office for your children's needs.

Wow. I'm really surprised to read all of the negative reviews about Dr. Barimo. My oldest began seeing him 15 years ago and he's never said or done anything innapropriate. My now teenge girls have never had a problem with him. He always explains things to me (the mom) and treats me with respect. I remember when one of my daughters had pneumonia as a baby he was right on top of it and thoroughly explaned the pros/cons of hospitalization to my husband and me because she was borderline. We opted to keep her home and she began showing improvement right away. He followed her recovery very closely. I will say that the time hespends with thechild can be pretty brief (depending on how busy the office is), but with us his diagnoses have always been right on.

on a annual check up..the Doctor noticed my child had pony tails and commented "those pony tails are what boys call handle bars" .

I was instantly ill! In shock called my husband who in turn called the office to register a complaint about this. Were offered additional physicians for my daughter to continue to use the same office. However I have found that most doctors there have only 5 minutes with you and are not up to par. Have since left this office for a one in Port St John, it's like night and day.

Have also come to fine out he's used this remark with another girl the same age as my daughter.

Dr.Barimo was very rude and inappropriate! He preformed my 3 day old sons circumcision and couldn't help himself by making several sexual comments about the size of my new born son's penis. I was so uncomfertable, and my husband was working so it was just me. It was awful. I was forced (or tricked) to see him again when my other son had an ear ache and he couldn't stop paying attention to my 4 yr old daughter! Didn't even say one word to my sick 3 yr old son who was his actual patient. I know a few other Moms that have had similar complaints about Barimo, how he still has a job I'll never know!

This man is horrible. He is degrading, insulting, treated me like an idiot regarding my childrens' care. He chose to lecture me on parenting skills rather than addressing medical concerns. Compared himself to me as in "his daughter doesn't have a laptop, why should mine" "what kind of parent lets their child have a tv in their room"- I didn't feel these issues were any of his business, and told him so. He yelled, actually yelled, at my child for still being in a diaper- she was 22 months old at the time, my other daughter was 13- the one with the laptop her granddad gave her. The man made both of my kids cry, infuriated me, and I would absolutely not recommend him to anyone. I would drive 100 miles out of my way if I had to, to avoid going to that "doctor".

When I was pregnant with my now 12 year old son, my husband and I interviewed Dr. Barimo. At the time, he seemed to be the type of doctor we were looking for. In practice however, he was not. Though he seemed to be an okay doctor, it was his bedside manner that drove us away from the practice. He treated parents, especially mothers, as though they are ignorant. I always felt as though he was talking down to me, and that as a parent I was merely in his way, rather than a partner in caring for my son's health. While I wouldn't recommend this practice at all, if you do go with them, choose a different doctor as your child's primary physician.
