Dr. Matthew A. Cohen is a graduate of Columbia College and received his Medical Degree from the Yale University School of Medicine. He is the Director of the Donor Egg Program and Director of Reproductive Endocrinology at The Center for Human Reproduction. Concurrent with his last 18 months at Yale, Dr. Cohen assumed rigorous research duties at the Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, Cape Cod, and the Israel Institute of Biology. He completed his OB/GYN residency at Harvard University and his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at Columbia University. He has authored numerous research papers in the fields of physiology and reproductive endocrinology. Dr. Cohen is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. Jewish law holds a special interest for Dr. Cohen as it relates to menstruation and sexual relations within marriage — known as taharat hamishpacha (family purity) or the laws of nidda. He attended Yeshiva from nursery through high school, with an additional year in an Israeli Yeshiva prior to attending college. The summers of his undergraduate years were spent studying with rabbinical students from Yeshiva University, and he has served as a course director for an international symposium in Jerusalem on women’s health and Jewish law. In addition to seeing patients in our main Manhasset office, Dr. Cohen also sees patients for consultations, evaluations and monitoring at the Ann and Jules Gottlieb Women’s Comprehensive Health Center in Manhasset.
