.

I took my four year old to Small Smiles for a cleaning and was told that my son had two cavitites that were severe enough to need fillings. This was without seeing an x-ray. No x-rays were performed. I was told that I would need to sign a paper stating that if the nitrous oxide did not calm my son down enough that they would tie him down. The day of the appointment to have the fillings done, I cancelled the appointment. I didn't see any damage to his teeth and really just felt uneasy about the whole process. I took me son for a second opinion to be told that he had NO cavities. I just want people to know that this company may be doing unnecessary work on many of these children. I will say that the staff was all very nice and the place is clean. I will not take my child back. If you are a patient on Medicaid, "real" dentist DO accept Medicaid. Check around. I can't imagine a child going through unnecessary dental work as mine almost did.
