My teenage son is a skateboarder, he fell skateboarding and badly broke his arm 21/2 years ago. The Orthopedic surgeon on call at Wake Med happened to be Dr. Galland and I'm SO glad. He is a great surgeon and very caring. He's very young so my son could relate to him much easier than an older Dr. He explained everything to us in a manner that we could both understand and we knew exactly what to expect for my son's recovery. The break was so severe that he needed surgery to implant rods into the bones in order to stabilize the them. He had to perform another surgery to remove the rods several weeks later and through every step of the way Dr. G was there for us.

He did warn us if my son continued to skateboard that we would be repeat customers and he was right. We have since seen him for a sprained ankle and then a broken ankle. Wheels don't belong anywhere near feet IMO but once skating gets in your blood you can't get rid of it, or so I'm told : )
This is why I keep Dr. G on speed dial, I hope we don't have occasion to call him again but if we do I know we are in the best hands possible.
