While I feel pretty positive about Dr. Temples, the office staff at the mega OB group where she practices is pretty hit or miss. Either they're very friendly, or very short and occasionally bitchy. In general I wait about an hour or so to see a practitioner, sometimes up to 2, spend about 5 minutes with whoever that might be, and if I'm lucky they'll ask me if I have questions. Not very approachable, and if you have a problem after hours you will not be able to talk to anyone on call or leave a message to be returned, the office line will direct you to the emergency room. Overall, if you want to be an educated, involved mom, you have to be pretty pushy if you want to get that out of this practice. If you ask a lot of questions, Dr. Temples is really good about answering them and very supportive. Some of the midwives she works with are pretty dismissive though. My dad is an MD, he had some concerns after a long car trip in my 8th month (2 10 hour days) when I had the first swelling of my whole pregnancy that I might have a blood clot. He told me a 5 min. exam would be able to tell if I had a life-threatening deep vein thrombosis--which might not present with more than mild swelling. When I brought it up to the midwife, she was very patronizing and told me that the swelling was from the car ride, and was very normal in late pregnancy. Really? 4 years of medical school and 20 practising and my dad doesn't know that? Dr. Temples' attitude helps me not be miserable with this practice--I don't have any other choices thanks to insurance. But overall, I'm underwhelmed by the total experience.

My daughter was extremely ill during her first trimester. Visits to her doctor were depressing and intimidating. Each time she attempted to explain her symptoms, she was told that being sick was normal. Her husband insisted that she see a different doctor.
Thanks to Dr. Temples for listening, caring, and helping. During my daughters first visit with Dr. Temples, she became aware that she was losing weight, had been given an incorrect dosage of medicine, needed to take B6, and offered other helpful suggestions. The very next day, she felt better. Thank God, my daughter no longer sees that other doctor, and she is looking forward to her next appointment with Dr. Temples.
