I went to the Zen Spa back in January 08...its May now, but I kept procrastinating on writing the review. Anyway, I cant remember they therapist name, but she was great. The place was beautifully decorated and like others said, its like walking into a different world, since it is an office building.

My therapist was very nice. Oh, I had a deep tissue massage. It felt great and the room was comfortable and serene. She asked me if the pressure was good, which it was. And I turned over (someone said they didnt in a previous comment).

I would absolutely recommend Zen Spa. I dont know what happened with the other persons experience, but I went with 2 out of town guest and they both enjoyed their massages also. One of them (who was thin and fragile) couldnt handle the deep tissue and switched to a Swedish (her therapist was kind of heavy set, which may have added pressure).

But it was great for all of us, they wanted to go again before they left, but we didnt make it back:(

Just so you know, my opinion will be biased because I work at a very high end day spa as a massage therapist. BUT I was very surprised to see how this medical office was transformed into a tranquil little spa. The first impression (waiting room) was great. Very dim lights, scented candles, plush red couches candle lit hallways... My massage started 20 later than scheduled, but no big deal at all because I got the full 50 minutes. Customer service was very good especially on the part of the massage therapist (Sivrine). My swedish massage was very good. I was able to relax very quickly and wanted to sleep. <--good thing! She made sure the pressure was to my liking and that I was comfortable. The only down-side that stands out to me is that the music only plays in the hallway, which you can hear through the door, BUT voices or shoes (receptionists high heels - - ha ha) easily dominate the soft music. But all in all, it was SOO worth it. Prices are EXTREMELY competitive!! I got a seasonal price which was like 1/4 the price of a massage at MY spa. Seriously, try it for yourself.

Pros: Dim lights, relaxing atmosphere. Not busy so you don't have to "deal" w/ other customers -- more private.

Cons: Navigating your way through the medical plaza to find it. ha ha. Oh yeah, no shower/steam/jacuzzi. Just shower before/after @ home. No biggie.

The "therapist" Christina was not friendly and rather cold. I was given 45 min when I was told I would be given an hour. Frankly it was a lazy 20 minutes on back, arms, legs (back of calves only!, never asked to turn over) and 25 minutes on hands and feet. I complained and they pretty much told me too bad. The room was blazing hot as well. I will never go back and I would never encourage anybody to go to Zen Spa. I guess for $35 you get what you pay for.

PROS: Nicely decorated
CONS: Lazy, cold, too warm, incomplete massage, unconcerned w. cust. satisfaction

This spa is hard to find, but so worth it. Here's what you do: You need to park around back and go in the middle door and take the elevator DOWN into the basement level. It is in a weird funky old building with long corridors and poorly labeled numbering. Once down, hang a right and follow the weird and winding hallyway.

Sometimes the girls put up xeroxed signs pointing you toward the spa, but you can't count on them being up. The spa is wayyy down on your right. Once you get there you will think I am crezy for sending you down this hallway of funkiness, but when you open the door, you'll understand. You'll be transported to a japanese tea room/garden, with flowing waterfall!!

All of the girls are good, but NENA is amazing. You'd not hink so, coz she's so slender, but her hands are like iron that she drags smoothly across you , undoing all the damage stress does to our poor lil selves. BLISS!
