If you are looking for a pediatrician, I would never recommend this office. The front office staff is a disgrace. It is not unusual to get a busy signal for hours and then when you finally get through, it's a recording where you're on hold for up to 3o minutes, only to be disconnected. I've already had to drive there personally to ask a simple question. It was just easier than waiting on hold on all day. I don't have a problem with the doctors, but I feel the bad outweighs the good here. As for the previous post, if they're too busy to answer the phone, then hire more people. It is completely unacceptable to not be able to reach your pediatrician by phone.

Pros: appointments start close to on time

Cons: no reminders for check-ups, impossible to get on phone

I love these people on here blasting doctors. First off, they are only human, and I was once a patient who ALWAYS was sick. I had chronic ear infections... self diagnosis practically. Barbara Gold was my first pediatrician, but as time went on, I preferred Mariel Clark PAC. As for the office staff, shortly after I left there as a patient (I turned 21, they practically said I was too old to go to a ped.) they changed hands, to St. Chris I believe. Anyways, the office staff when I went was sometimes quick or "short" but their phones are ringing off the hook at least when I was there anyway. So, although your child was very sick, other problems arise. If you don't like Malkin, then try someone else, there's like 10 doctors now.. You can request someone else ("May I have Dr. Gold's hours, please, I would like my child to see her"--or whomever you prefer to have as your child's ped that visit). For someone to call a doctor rude, they better be unbearable. As a child and a tough patient, they always found the time to squeeze me in when I was sick, maybe a little kindness--perhaps, understanding, goes a long way.

Pros: night hours..

Beware of this practice, especially the incompetent front office staff. Because of an error on the front desk's part, DHS was sent to my house. I had done absolutely nothing wrong, but DHS was told I was neglecting my child because I missed an appointment that never existed in the first place. When I called the receptionist to confront them about this, they made up a complete junk story about having talked to me on the phone and confirming a new date for his appointment. The only problem was that the receptionist gave me the number she had called and it wasn't even my phone number! She never spoke to me. They brushed it off as a slight miscommunication, but that doesn't make you feel better when you have DHS breathing down you neck and accusing you of neglecting your child. Mind you, my child is very healthy and definitely not neglected. There was no reason for the office and the doctor to even think this way. It seems as if they are very quick to jump the gun and report anyone...as if they have a "quota." Beware. This office is run very poorly. The office staff isn't friendly or competent to begin with even without the above situation.

Pros: appointments begin on time. 1 doctor was okay, but not great as she defends office staff mistakes.

Cons: incompetent and rude office staff.
