my 5 year old grandson had oral surgery there and the nurses were very rude to him.
They were rude to his mother and were upset because the boy was crying about the iv needle.
They showed no concern and left them wait outside the hospital standing until I got there to pick them up..
The boy had only been out of recovery a short time.
They have added on to the orginal hospital and it is very big and beautiful.
Nursing care lacks heart.

PROS: new and big and clean and beautiful.
CONS: nursing care lacks heart

I went here for various little accidents I had while living in town. One such incident is when I cut my finger opening a can of food. I rushed over to the emergency room and waited hours before they saw me. The nurses were really nice however they had me sit in the back on a cot for several more hours. I finally decided that I would take my chances with the cut hand and lack of stitches than spending the night at the ER. They stopped me as I tried to leave and finally treated my hand. I wouldn't want to go back to this hospital for any other problems because of the long wait I encountered.

The staff (with the exception of 2 lactation consultants I had the pleasure of encountering) was incredibly uneducated about breastfeeding, which was obvious by common myths about breastfeeding that they were still perpetuating in their interactions with patients. Their nurses clearly need more education about breastfeeding. Be wary of any hospital such as this one that tries to enforce a 4-hour feeding schedule (breastfeeding is not facilitated by blindly enforcing an arbitrary schedule for perceived convenience). Other detrimental practices related to breastfeeding are promoted by the staff and hospital policy. Be wary if you end up at this hospital or eliminate aggravation and choose a hospital that supports your parenting choices and your right to be autonomous. And flush the ridiculous pacifiers, that they routinely shove in every infant's mouth, down the toilet.
