I have seen a number of physicians and neurologists and neurosurgeons. Dr. Naslund is by far the worst: she did not listen to me; she made decisions based on her own belief that the pain which has rendered me incapacitated as being "just back pain". Her diagnosis: I just needed some physical therapy. When I reminded her that it was a physical therapist who insisted I see a doctor since his diagnosis was that I was in danger of having nerve damage and that PT could only cause further damage, her response was: "Well, it wasn't one of OUR physical therapists." Huh? Two neurosurgeons insisted that I had a neurological condition. She disagreed with both...but gave no reasons other than "they obviously overreacted." Never have I felt so dubious of a physician. Don't go to her if you want a real diagnosis--or a real neurologist.

If you need some to just look at a neurology problem, then OK. If you are interested in getting a good reason/diagnosis for the problem or what are you options for the future...not going to happen here. Once the $290 exam fee is paid you need to come back for a second $290 (minus your health insurance coverage) for a short "consult" on what to do next. As a doctor myself I find it amazing that the core responsibility has been upcharged and minimized to a pure cash transaction. Not to be superseded is that the implication that this is a group of neurologists is an illusion. They share staff and logistics, not the work. Meaning if one doctor makes a mistake...the others don't pick up the ball but rather have a PR person try to "smooth" things over. A core reason for escalating health care costs?
