Dr. Paul A. Bender works at this facility. He is horrible with children. I took our son to him when our son was four years old. First of all, Dr. Bender wouldn't allow me in the room with our son during his examination. My son was terrified, crying, and begging for me throughout the examination. I could hear Dr. Bender griping at him all the way in the waiting room. That made me VERY irate. Secondly, Dr. Bender took me back to talk to me personally about the condition of my son's teeth. He informed me that my son had nine cavities (which I found interesting considering the dentist who referred me to Dr. Bender had found only three), would need metal caps, and that the procedure would have to be done as out-patient in the hospital. He then told me the estimated cost (without the hospital billing estimate - the hospital would bill me that portion) would be $1100. $1100??!?!?!?! Then the jerk actually had the audacity to treat me like I was a terrible mother for balking at the idea of paying $1100 just for his bill because we simply could not afford that. We didn't have dental insurance. Then he rudely suggested that my husband and I go to our parents and ask for a loan!! A loan! I grabbed my kid and abruptly left his office never to return.

I ended up taking our son to Dr. Joseph Fleck (941-0588 in Clarksville, Indiana) who is absolutely wonderful with children. My son didn't cry or anything. Also, I was allowed to sit right there by my child the entire time. Dr. Fleck told me after examining our son that our son only had THREE cavities, did not need metal caps, the cavities were very small and could be filled the old fashioned way and with white filling so it wouldn't show, and it would be done IN OFFICE. The total bill for two visits including the initial exam, cleaning and x-rays was $350.

Do not go to this dentistry office! Take your children to Dr. Joseph Fleck if you don't want to be ripped off and have your children terrorized!
