Your life in the best light

Transitions® lenses adapt to changes in light, so you’re never forced to squint or strain your eyes. In any light, they offer the right amount of tint for more clarity and better contrast. They also block 100% of UV rays.

    Computer Savvy

If you spend a lot of time on the computer, you know the strain it puts on your eyes. Lenses like PearleTHIN™ HD and PearleTHIN™ HD Workspace can reduce the constant refocusing caused by extended computer usage, and fit in nearly any frame style.

DON'T GO HERE! I visited this Pearle Vision location recently and had a terrible experience. After the fact (silly me!) I checked the internet for reviews and unfortunately all the negative reviews are ALL TRUE! I have never felt compelled to post a negative review about anything on the internet, but this is the exception.

The front office staff is rude, unfriendly and just downright strange. They are fine unless you need assistance or need a problem resolved. I was overcharged and they were unwilling to work with me to resolve the error and were extremely rude. I've never had such a weird experience in my life!!

I went into Pearle Vision Brighton for the first time a few weeks ago. I had done some research, so I knew the model(s) of Ray-ban sunglasses I wanted to look at. They are locked up in a glass display case like fort knox, and when I asked the sales assistant (tall red head) about the specific glasses I wanted she looked shocked and said, "Oh, you just want to try them on so you can see if you like them and then buy them online." At this point I was shocked. This was the first thing she said to me for a potential sale ? I said no, I need perscription sunglasses so I'll be buying them from a store. At this point though I knew I didn't want to deal with these guys. I went to Lenscrafters at 12 Oaks where all the Ray-bans, Oakley, and other name brand glasses are out where you can actually try them on and the sales people are quite helpful. I bought two pair there (they were having a 30% off sale), So Pearle Vision lost out on over $500 in sales that day. 12 Oaks is a little bit of a drive from Brighton, but I'd even walk to 12 Oaks before I'd do business with these rude sales assistants.

(6/21/11) I would strongly encourage you to RECONSIDER if you are thinking about giving your business to this Pearle Vision Optical Center. I have been a customer there for several years strictly for convenience purposes however have always been suspicious of the fees they charge. Well this last incident was the straw that broke the camels back and my suspicions proved to be true!. My son was interested in a certain "name brand" frame however after the employee advised us of the price I asked for the model number so I could comparison shop. Well she told me I couldn't have the number it was store policy.Okay, so long story short since I didn't have the number I went back and ordered the glasses (STUPID ME) the price was $502.95, the frames alone were $279.95 and everything else was extras (diid I mention I have 3 optical insurances) I felt pressure from the employee to purchase extras that I didn't even need. After I paid half down and was able to get the model number of the frames and did a price check elsewhere the actual price for the exact frames retail for $135.00 and the store pays $69.00. I attempted to cancel my order but the office manager (who is also the doctor's wife) ignored my phone calls and when I finally did go in to see her this evening basically what she told me is I'm out of luck! This is a "family owned and operated" store and there is no one else to take my complaint to. I am hoping this helps get the word out. Believe me, word of mouth travels and every time an opportunity arises I will be sure to tell anyone that will listen how horrible this vision center is! Please help me spread the word and don't get taken like I did!

      * I would like to note that we did not see the doctor at this visit and this review is based solely on our experience with the employees in the front.

My husband and I had recently updated our prescriptions and the place we had our exam at did not have a very big selection of men's frames. We looked up other VSP providers in the area and Pearle Vision was on the list. We stopped into the Brighton office at 2:00pm on a Friday. There were 4 employees in the store at the time: 1 with a patient, 1 on the phone, and what appeared to be one employee training another on entering computer information. I approached the desk and the older woman (manager as I later found out) glanced up at me and continued to ignore me. I waited for a minute to see if she would address me and when she did not I started to browse their selection of frames. When the employee on the phone finished with her phone call she abruptly asked if we had an appointment. I stated we did not and that we had stopped in to check out their frame selection for myself and my husband as we both needed glasses. She asked if we had insurance and I stated we had VSP. She asked which one and that their were over 5000 VSP plans. Exasperated that I did not know what exactly our plan was, she said she could look it up. I stated that I knew exactly what our coverage was and she turned back around and started to "help" me look for a frame. I let her know that is she was busy I did not need help yet as I wanted to look around for a bit. After pulling a few frames off the shelf for me she let me be. She then called out to the others that she was leaving for lunch and would be back shortly. I walked over to my husband (who was looking at the men's frames and was never addressed by a single employee) to see if he had found anything he liked. At this point the manager approached us and stated "Well, if you're not going to buy something we need to scoot you out of here to close for lunch". (It is 2:10pm at this point and nowhere in the store does it say closed for specific lunch hours). My husband and I left. The following day we returned to Howell Eye Center (the place we had originally gone) and had exceptional service by the man there. We had no appointment and he was most pleasant and helped us to both find a pair of glasses and we left happy.

I was in such disbelief and disgusted over the employee's at Pearle Vision that I actually stopped in that afternoon and asked to speak with the manager. (This is the woman who told us to leave if we were not buying something.) I let her know how rude and uncomfortable they had been and made us feel and that because of this we spent our over $600 at another shop (not including my year's supply of contacts). She did appologize but as I left the second employee (who was leaning in to listen to what I had to say) went over to the manager and as I walked out one of them stated "Whatever". Oh yeah, the first time we were in their the patient that was being helped left and the women immediately started talking about her in a not so friendly nature.

Between my husband and I we have 19 siblings (most of them married w/children) - I will be sharing this experience with all of them and every other person I know who wears glasses/contacts.

I work at a doctor's office and would never treat a prospective patient/client the way we were treated from intial contact to the "whatever" on the way out. I doubt that speaking with the manager did any good as she was part of the bad experience.

I Never write reviews first of all but for this I HAD to. I had bout a pair of d&g glasses online after trying them on at a different location but I knew pearls vision carried them. I stopped in several different places and no one would touch them because they were from the Internet. I only wanted them to fit better they were extremely loose. Finally since I knew they carried the brand and I had a few people tell me they didn't have the right tools to tighten???? I called them. The girl on the phone was very nice And said it would not be an issue to tighten/ fit them to my face. I drove over 20 min and walked to the counter and asked if I could get them fitted one of the younger girls said to just bring them over but the, I'm guessing it was the manager behind the counter quickly snapped and asked if I had purchased them there. She picked them up and immediately when I said no I purchased them on the Internet she dropped them on the counter and said " the small price I paid for these glasses is the small amount of service I will get for them, they will only service products sold by them." I was in shock she was being so rude, I could see the younger girl behind the counter was perhaps a little embarrassed of her "manager" or whoever it was. I specifically called first and said they were from the Internet so I left furious. I looked at the next place on google maps which was Tomz optical. I called them and drove around the corner for EXCEPTIONAL service. I work in customer service at my TWO jobs and god forbid I didn't spend $400 for the same glasses at that joke of a store. I have already sent 3 people to Tomz optical and will continue to because they made up for the incredible rudeness I experienced at this pearle vision. If you want good service go to Tomz they didn't charge me anything and they actually fit so thier not falling off.

If you want to experience the weirdest eye glass buying extravaganza, go here! First I was followed around the whole store by a creepy technician while I was trying to collect my thoughts and figure out what I might like on my face. Second it took two and a half weeks for the frames to come in, which I was told it would not take more than two - this is all way too long considering the last time I purchased glasses I left the store with them. Last, the same creepy technician had me try the glasses on with my contacts still in but insisted that I close my eyes and she will gage how straight the glasses look on MY FACE! What?!?!? Not pleased with this business at all!!
