I decided to change doctors, and after asking friends, they recommended Dr. Hunter. So, I called and they said they were taking new patients. The sent all of the paperwork to me, and I sent it back. I had all of my records transferred. I spoke with people at the office on several different occasions. They were all very polite. After they received the records, they called to tell me I could make an appointment any time. And, I did. I took a day off of work, which means my husband also had to take 1/2 a day off because I'm self employed and he is my fill in. When I got there, the lady asked me for my insurance card, I gave it to her, and she said "We don't accept this insurance." What? We've been talking and transferring records for 2 months, and no one bothered to ask or to read over any paperwork?? I mean, if you get records and paperwork listing an insurance plan that you don't accept...you'd think someone would call. But no. So, now I'm doctorless. Is this a tactic? She said, "O, well you can pay out of pocket and your insurance will probably reimburse you." Why would I do that, when I can go elsewhere and not have to pay out of pocket? Grrrr.
