Dr. Pidoux is an "old school" physician/cardiologist. Not only is he very up to date technically, both as a general interest and cardiologist, I believe he truly enjoys what he does, and cares deeply about people.

Although he specializes in cardiology (I believe he is a FACC--fellow of the American College of Cardiology, he is also a well rounded general internist. He is not afraid to refer when necessary, although my wife might disagree with this last statement.

I took my wife to him when she was complaining of nocturnal (nighttime) palpitations. It took him about 5 minutes and a simple EKG to come to the correct diagnosis of Grave's disease (autoimmune inflammation of the thyroid gland, resulting in clinical hyperthyroidism.

He has also taken care of my (late) mother in law when she tragically turned up with pancreatic cancer. This is a very bad disease, and is almost uniformly fatal. Still, Dr. Pidoux, admitted her to the hospital as the supervising physician, called in consultants as needed, including a surgeon who did a radical potentially life saving operation to get rid of the cancer (a Whipple procedure). Unfortunately, my mother-in-law did not survive due to her experiencing every complication in the book.

Even so, I do no hold Dr. Pidoux in the least responsible for this. It's just that sometimes the most compassion and best medical skills are not always enough to overcome a bad disease process.

I would recommend him without reservation.
