I think one star is too much. The staff treat patients with distain, rude, refuse to give their names. WHO in 2011 doesn't take cradit cards, its so stupid, I don't carry $200 cash in my pocket, and didn't have a cheque with me, they refused service after a 2 month wait, then gave another appointment a month wait again. They treat us in Kentucky like a third world nation, and frankly we are not. I changed and went to UK, they can stick their practice.

My husband was shot in the head about 7 years ago while we lived in utah. we recently moved to ky, and we started seeing Dr. Patel for his brain appts. Dr Patel is the worst Dr ever, he refuses to refill the seizure medication my husband needs on a daily basis. First he called in the wrong prescription, and when we infromed him of this he basically said too bad and refuses to call in the right meds for my husband. We have been trying for about a month to get him to refill his meds. my husband runs out on wednesday and thanks to Dr. Patel my husband will probably have a seizure that could kill him.

On October 1, 2009, at approximately 1:30 p.m., I had an appointment with Dr. Patel. When I went to make my co-pay with my debit card, the young receptionist informed me they did not have the capability to accept the card and unless I could pay in cash or check, she would not allow me to see the doctor. Allowing a young receptionist to make that determination could have had serious implications. Also there were others in the office at the time complaining of the rudeness of the receptionists.

Dr. P.D. Patel is a great doctor and has worked hard to get my migraines under control. I appreciate very much all that he has done for me in the few months that I have been going to his office. However, there is room for improvement with the way the appointments are handled. Even though you have one, you still have to wait sometimes an hour or longer past your appointed time before you are called in to see him.
So why have one?

PROS: Great doctor!
CONS: Poor office organization, appointment scheduling
