Dr. Pluckhan and his staff were extremely helpful in my understanding the process and risks involved in my oral surgery. At the same time, he put me at ease in explaining everything that was going on. He did a great job with my extremely tricky teeth (I have other filling and things). I had normal recovery and I really feel that it's because I followed the instructions to the letter. Excellent experience overall. (Ignore that negative rating - I don't know who he went to!)

My sister and I both recently had our wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Pluckhan. I had all 4 of mine removed, went home with my prescriptions, and had an overall decent first day of recovery. The staff, including Dr. Pluckhan, were all very kind and efficient during our office visits. Every step was explained thoroughly before and after the procedures. They spent an adequate amount of time with us making sure we had everything that we needed, as well as every answer than we wanted. I read the other reviews, and I must say I am surprised by their negative experiences! I think it may have just been that the other reviewers were expecting teeth removal to be like eating a nice bowl of ice cream.

I highly recommend staying away from Dr. Pluckhan. If you have any problems or complications on a surgical procedure done by this oral surgeon, don??t count on talking to him directly, or any oral surgeon for that matter (even during what we would think are typical, regular office hours). He does not believe in speaking to his patients directly during a crisis; he said that he communicates with the office staff and they communicate with the patients as ??this has always worked in the past?. My son was in excruciating pain after getting his 4 wisdom teeth extracted (even after he took Vicodin) so I wanted to speak to Dr. Pluckhan (This was on Friday at 1:30pm in the afternoon). I was told by the office staff that he had already left the office so they would call him, then they would call me back. So talking to Dr. Pluckhan or any other oral surgeon on call (which I believe is the expected norm) was not an option. I called back a second time (after administering the 2nd Vicodin pill because the pain had not subsided) because I wanted to be certain there were no complications that I should have been informed about, and I was put on hold so she could ask the ??assistants? in the office about this. They had no knowledge of any complications so that was that. I was also angry because they tried to calm me with utmost ridiculous suggestions, such as to divert the pain by popping in a DVD for my son to watch a movie ??when anyone is in excruciating, unbearable pain, how can one watch a movie??!! When I told the staff that my son was in so much unbearable pain that he was in tears, crying out in pain, I was told that patients can get emotional from the anesthesia. Is there a thread of common sense in these people?

The following Monday, I called Dr. Pluckan??s office for him to call me. When I asked Dr. Pluckhan about his policy about communicating through his staff rather than his patients directly (for a crisis matter!), he said he couldn??t call me anyway because he was out of cell phone reach. He flat-out lied because he was able to call his office staff so he could have called me as well. When I confronted that fact with him, he said, ??oh? I??ll have to check to see what time I made the call?, so in other words, was denying what had truly happened. ? Also when I complained about the insensitive suggestions I received from the staff, Dr. Pluckhan told me this was his idea, and had relayed it to the office staff to inform me so this was *his* insane recommendation and he was not ashamed to admit it. When he told me that his policy has always worked in the past, I said, ??ok what I hear you saying is that even after this incident, you??re not even going to consider changing it?? His answer was, ??oh, I can consider it?. Any surgeon who is concerned about their patient wouldn??t just ??consider it? but change it, in my perspective. It was a waste of time for me to keep talking to him at this point.

I totally regret going to Dr. Pluckhan and having my son going through this horrendous experience. We unfortunately got a referral from our (trusting) pediatric dentist to Dr. Pluckhan and that is the reason we went to see him. I spoke to our pediatric dentist to notify him of this incident. He agreed with me that Dr. Pluckhan (or at least an oral surgeon on call) should have been available to talk to me and said he would call and talk to him.

Ten days after the surgery, I got a call from our trusted pediatric dentist to ask how my son is doing, and also to ask how things went with Dr. Pluckhan as he was led to believe Dr. Pluckhan had talked with me or my husband about this incident when my son went back to get his sutures removed. My husband took my son that day and Dr. Pluckhan didn??t say a word to him. So it appears he also flat-out lied to our pediatric dentist as well. No surprise there, and it was no surprise that he didn??t even try to rectify this incident.

Dr. Pluckhan had terrible bedside manor and treated me like a 15 year old instead of an adult ( I am 30). He did nothing for the terrible pain after my wisdom teeth surgery and after 2 months I am still dealing with cysts and other horrible complications. I would NEVER recommend this Dentist to anyone!

If you ever need any oral surgery, this is the dentist to see. Dr. Pluckhan and his staff are so friendly! Dr. Pluckhan truly cares about his patients. They offer sedation dentistry which was #1 for me. Sue & Stacy in the front office were so friendly and put me at ease even before I was called into the room. Dr. Pluckhan greeted me with a huge smile. He was sooo gentle! This whole office is HIGHLY recommended!
