As a healthcare executive, I feel I am pretty discerning and selective about physician excellence. This was put to the test recently, when I had to choose a new family practice physician. Dr. Greg Maul and his staff certainly passed my test with flying colors!

Front office staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. This was my first time to the office, as I am a new patient. No problem with prior doctor of 20 years, but was no longer taking Tri Care Prime insurance (military retiree). I was not disappointed with the office visit. After a short wait in the lobby area,I was seen initially by Dr Maul's nurse assistant (this is normal process in most family practice) and later was treated by Dr Maul. He is a very good listener and maintained a pleasant professionalism throughout this initial patient visit. Based on this first visit, I'd recommend Dr. Greg Maul as a very good choice for family physician.

I started seeing Dr. Maul after my neighbor told me to go see him. I have been 3 different times since the first of the year and I have nothing but good things to say about this office. I have seen Dr. Maul two times and his partner once. They have been fantastic! The only hiccup I've had was an issue with my insurance, but it was resolved quickly thanks to the front desk girl. I give them an A+!

Pros: Nice staff, clean clinic, great doctor

Dr. Maul is a good doctor and has been good at diagnosing our family illnesses. However, the wait times can be very long. Even if you have an appointment, you may have to wait for an hour before getting in the room.

I had nothing but a perfect doctor experience when I came in recently as a first time patient. I'm new to the area. I live in Rockwall so it's just around the corner. I've been to doctors before where it was such a hassle just to get treated because you 'weren't on file'. The process here was so quick and simple. And Dr Maul is great. I've definitely found a place where I feel taken care of and would recommend Dr Maul to anyone looking for a doctor that they can trust and feel welcome!

Since Dr Herrera & PA Rachel

have left,office has go gone

to hell in a handbasket. The

wait time LAST VISIT - 5.3/4

HRS!!! Maul turned beet red when I told him I was upset

re: this vist and 3 previous (we left the office @ 7:05p)

having arrived-3:30p w/appt. Staff is incompetent, no one

has the decency to apologize for so many wrongs. It is so

BAD maybe Dr Herrera left to

avoid his name being dragged

in the mud. Oh yes, Maul did

say "he couldn't be faulted

because he was the only dr.

working" this past Saturday Signed in 9:03a out 2:48p &

10 patients still in lobby!;

Sat office hrs. 8:30a-12:30p

Maybe I expect too much but

he/they struck out with me.

Bumped my head once too many

shame on me. My time is just

as vaulable as his, more so! STOP OVERBOOKING & RESPECT

I have going to Dr Maul for about two years now. I have yet to see Greg Maul, but have been seeing Dr Moses Herrera. Dr H is OK. He sent me to several specialists (at great expense) only to find there was no cause for alarm. He over-reacted. I have major pain in my hips and knees from arthritis. Dr H took me off of NSAIDs and put me on Tramadol. Much safer and very effective. On my last refil, I found Dr H is no longer there. His "replacement" cut my prescription by more than half. This is basically an ineffective dose. In order to get my regular prescription, I will have to make an appointment and have another $1000 blood-test by LabCorp done. This is killing my insurance and medical sending account.

Dr Mauls staff is very close to being incompetant. That or they just don't care. They don't rerturn phone calls. They make mistakes on paperwork.

I miss my doctor of twenty years that retired. R. Greg Maul et al have not been a reliable replacement. Sorry, no referrals.

Dr. Maul is the BEST!! My family and I have been seeing Dr. Maul for the last 5 years and I am surprised to read some of the comments below. I have had nothing but the best experiences with him and his staff since moving to the area in 2003. I have noticed some turnover, but with each new person the attitude from front to back seems to improve. Maybe it's because I own a medium sized business and can relate to general staffing issues that I sympathize with the turnover. Also, I had an issue with my insurance company, which was frustrating, but Stacey, the office manager, walked me through it and resolved the issue on the spot. My family and I will continue to recommend and see Dr. Maul as long as we live in the area.

Pros: Dr. Maul bedside manner, level of treatment, knowledge

Cons: Wait time on Monday and Friday

First of all the wait time is horrible. They say one thing but you end up waiting 1 1/2 jhours just to see the Dr.. Then you wait AGAIN for the Dr. to come in the room. The staff seems to be getting better but the turn over in this office is unbelieveable as well as the turn over of Dr.'s and Nurse Practioners. Its never consistent at all. Makes you wonder whats going on. Last, I am a patient of Dr. Herreras and I have been calling for the last couple of weeks to schedule an appointment and I cant get a straight answer if he is still there or not. So I feel this office is not telling the truth. This will be a HUGE loss if they loose Dr. Herrera.

I would never refer anyone to go to this practice. The waits are extremely long. They triple book just to bring in more money. They send you through like a herd of cattle and very uncaring. Stacy Maul is probably the rudest person I have ever met and is most definately not office manager material even if she is the doctors wife. Dr Maul senior was fantastic but he is no longer there. You never get to see Greg Maul. I would not go to this office again even if it were the last office open. I would take my chances with a home remedy.

Dr Maul is a very nice man, if you are ever able to see him. I had gone to Dr Maul Family practice for nearly 8 years and saw Dr Maul twice. Most of the time it was a nurse practitioner or a doc-in-a-box there on staff for a short spell.

My biggest issues with this office are the wait times and staff.

The staff is very unfriendly and seem to take a long time to get you checked in before your chart is even put up on the counter to be given a room. It seems with all the issues they have they would check this the day before to speed the process along.

The wait times, at most time, are HORRENDOUS. I have gone into the office with a 103 fever and have had to wait more than 2 hours before even being taken to a room. Once in the room, it is another hour or so before the doctor walks in. The staff admits they triple and quadruple book. This really limits the care. Once the doctos comes in, they are in and out.

The time the doctor spends with the patient is a joke. I wait 3 hours to see a doctor to get 5 minutes with him/her. In some cases, I have been prescribed medicine I am allergic to and have been misdiagnosed.

I do not recommend this office to anybody. :(

My family went to Dr. Maul for 6 years and after many mistakes have changed doctors. Beware because sometimes we listen to Doctors even when you don't belive them.

Pros: Open many hours evening and weekend

Cons: Many mistakes and rudeness

.

I have been visiting Dr. Maul's office for about 5 years and have decided that I will never go back. The waits are extremely long...often as long as 3 hours. It would be better to go to the emergency room than to put up with this poor customer service. One Dr. at the practice, Dr. Herrera, did not even listen to my complaints and I felt like he wrote several unneccessary prescriptions for both my husband and I . I have no faith in the staff or the the Dr.s there. I have never seen Dr. Maul in person. I do not even know if he exists. The whole scene feels like a low budget film. I was in a bind with a prescription given by Dr. Herrera that had adverse side effects and I needed a new Rx. It took me 9 phone calls over a period of 6 hours to finally get a nurse and some resolution to the issue.

My husband and I have been visiting Dr Mauls office for about 8 years. We are currently looking for a new doctor.

I have been very disappointed with this office for the last 6 years and I honestly cannot tell you why I have procrastinated for so long to change doctors. Not anymore. :)

The largest problem with this office is the office staff. Stacy Maul, Dr Mauls wife, is a very sweet woman and truly helpful. Outside of that, they are all terrible. The people are rude, unorganized, unprofessional and some of them are downright nasty. When you are sick and go to the doctor, the last thing you need is some desk person treating you like you are taking up their precious time or that your visit to the office is an inconvenience to them.

Dr Maul, when you can actually see him, is professional and truly cares for his patients. He has had a few practitioners, one has moved on, that are wonderful, the rest of the doctors in his office are terrible. He has one doctor in his office, Herrera, that has misdiagnosed me and he is, for lack of a better word, a total butt. I saw him a few times and had to ask that they put "never see Hererra again" on my chart. In 8 years, I have seen Dr Maul 2 times, my husband 2 or 3 himself. It is usually a nurse practitioner or an intern.

Their staff has a very high turnover, which also bothers me a great deal. That does not say much for the office.

It is very difficult to get an appointment as they always seem to double, triple and even quadruple book. It is not rare to sit in the waiting room for a minimum of 1 hour before they even acknowledge your arrival and ask for a co-pay, then sit in the waiting area for for another hour before you are called back and then sit in your little room for another hour waiting on the doctor.
