This review will be broke into three parts: the actual cleaning, the quality of the actual dentist, and the front office and business aspect of the dental practice. For a little background which I believe is important, I went to this office since I purchased a Living Social deal for a: check-up, x-rays, and teeth cleaning at $40. These services generally start at $100 so I knew I was getting a deal and was prepared to say no to anything they would try and upsell me on. As this is how the game is played and I am okay with that.
What I was not prepared for was the dentist telling me I had 9 cavities, but the hygienist could clean them out for me no problem. The actual hygienist was great, friendly, and very good at what she did. She did not knick my gums too bad or ask me questions with an instrument in my mouth and expect an answer. I would rate her 5 STARS. The actual dentist was just so-so. He looked at my mouth and the x-rays for two seconds said a couple things, told me I had 9 cavities, and left. Like a typical doctor said I had problems, but not what they were or what might have caused them. Give him 3 STARS.
So far so, I get done with the cleaning and I am presented with an estimate for fixing all 9 cavities in mouth. Which I thought was weird since the dentist said the hygienist could clean, but since I don??t know about teeth I figured okay. HERE is WHERE they get you?9 cavities to fix= $2004. Now I called around and the price for the fillings was appropriate so no issue there.
The issue was the pressure to drop TWO GRAND then and there with no second opinion and being pressure to do so. When I was reluctant they were nice enough to fill out a CARE credit card type deal for me that went through in less than an hour? Then the trouble started when I asked for a copy of the x-rays.
Their first response was no, then yes, but no print copies and the digital copies would cost $40. Here is the thing, the x-ray was hooked up to a desktop so I saw the jpegs appear instantly on the screen and my $40 covered the cost of the x-rays and since they are MY medical files they are MINE. Several nasty phone calls later I informed the office manager that it was unethical to charge money for digital copies of a patient??s own files and they begrudgingly sent me extremely LOW RES quality photos that are basically worthless, but I did not pay the $40 bucks.
The bottom line for this office is use your Groupon or Living Social deal and then WALK OUT IMMEDIATELY. The office staff is rude, unethical, and disrespectful when you do not automatically give them TWO GRAND of your hard earned money with any questions asked. Pardon me for being an informed consumer and knowing my rights. I will not be back here and suggest you do the same.

I am very fearful of the Dentist, and I explained this to the receptionist, Fran before coming in for a routine cleaning. The staff and Dr. Segovia were WONDERFUL! The practice is a small one doctor practice with personal one on one attention and he has always been on time.
