Dr. Boette, his wife, and staff are the most compassionate and helpful people I have met in a very long time. They absolutely love children and love what they do. When my little ones go for their appointments, Dr. Boette talks to them, asks how they're feeling, LISTENS to them, and wholeheartedly involves them in their care. After he has greeted and spoken with his little patients, he then asks if I have any questions or concerns for them, offer suggestions and advice-- he is a very knowledgeable pediatrician. He also does NOT have a call service, and answers his phone. I've had him for my children's doctor since they were infants (one since she was born!) and I would not change a thing. For all the silly times I've called to actual emergencies (of which there have been only one!) he was caring, compassionate, and helpful, with great advice and a common sense approach. One GREAT doctor!!

Dr. Boette is an older man (reminded me of Andy Griffith), and runs a one man office with 2 admin women as staff. That said, there are certain pros and cons to him, and this set-up.

Pros: He is a very breastfeeding-friendly doctor. His wife is a lactation consultant that is sort of "on call" when you deliver. She visited us in the hospital and was very helpful, and we could have called her if we'd needed more help. He was always very supportive in regards to our first-time parenting fears/concerns, and let us know we were doing just fine. He always had his phone on, and said to call whenever, as he understood how parents of newborns worry.

Cons: Even though he said to call whenever, I never felt comfortable doing so, as he always seemed a little short with me when I did (which was only 2-3 times in 8 months). I also found him to be a bit patronizing as time went on. Once our baby was older, and not going in every 1-2 weeks, I found that having a small office was a hindrance. When I wanted to have my son looked at after an injury, I was told they were booked and there was NO flexibility from the office staff. Also, they didn't "do stitches" nor did they give flu shots in the office, but refered us to either Urgent Care or the Health Dept.

Overall, I liked him for the first 6-8 months, but switched pediatricians right around my sons 1st birthday, as for me the cons then outweighed the pros.
