Our daughter has been going to Dr. Hands for 22 years--yes, she is 22 and still goes to him for routine matters, colds etc. You could not find a more caring, comprehensive or valuable doctor. But besides the homey feel of the office etc, he is a world class clinician. There has NEVER been an incorrect dx or anything coming close to that. We were in FL when our daughter had an ear infection-we went to the local ER and got a prescription. Not trusting anyone other than Dr. Hands, we called his office at night-recevied a call back-read him the rx and he told us the dose was for a mouse. Got correct doasge. Beyond what you expect today.

Dr Hands is a rare kind of a Pediatrician, and a very good individual. Many years ago he practically saved my daughter when she was a baby. During an office visit, he realized that she was in grave danger. Although she had a neonatologist who presumably was following her case, the moment Dr. Hands saw my child he told us that she needed to go immediately to a big univeristy medical environment where she could get specialized treatment. I have three children and I keep saying to them that individuals like Dr. Hands are invaluable, great role modes for the rest of us.

Dr. Hands is truly a wonderful physician. I work in health care and with physicians daily so it rare that one will stand out to me. The way Dr. Hands handled the recent illness and subsequent hospitalization of my daughter was a testament to his vast experience and knowledge, character, and genuine concern for my daughter's well-being. I am thoroughly impressed with his clinical acumen and bedside manner and feel very fortunate to have been referred to him in my daughter's time of need.

Just great, caring and knowledgeable pediatrician.
He impressed me as an old fashion doctor that is taking his time with your kid. He will not push you into some questionable drugs for kickback.
I will recommend him to any parent.

Dr. Robert Hands is my son's primary physician, someone my son completely trusts and respects. He converted part of his home in Upper Saddle River, NJ into offices and practices his healing craft from there.

Upon entering you can readily tell he understands children. The waiting room is filled with activities to keep toddlers occupied while they wait for their turn. In fact there is even an old vintage Ms. Pac Man arcade game that will kill the time. I should know. I'm usually the one hogging the machine. There are also many magazines and brochures related to health and care that are always up-to-date. Many coupons are always stationed for your needs,

Dr. Hands has three examining rooms that are fully equipped with all the essentials needed for examinations. just by the decor you can tell Dr. Hands likes movies as witnessed to all the movie posters that are in each office. His bedside manner is impeccable and I wish all doctors exhibited the patience he demonstrates to everyone who comes and sees him. He is thorough and catious in all his examinations, and really goes that extra step in making sure that his diagosis is correct.

Finding a doctor is like find a mechanic... once you find one that you can trust you will always come back. That's a testament to Dr. Hands' character for he has many, many patients who always come back to him.

PROS: Great physician, excellent with children
CONS: none

Dr Hands is a true country doctor in all the best ways. He's caring, takes time with you, will explain whatever it is you need to know in understandable terms & is available

He worked with his wife, a nurse when I used to take mychildren to him. Everyone in this little town seemed to use Dr. Hands. My children knew his children.

His office was and is in his house another charming cozy touch..

I come from a medical family so we don't choose our doctors lightly. Dr Hands is excellent.

PROS: Top notch doctor
CONS: None

Dr. Robert Hands has been my son's primary care physician for the last 14 years. Dr. Hands was recommended to me by my Aunt, who used him for her two sons right up until they were young s. He is a beloved doctor who works out of his own practice in Upper Saddle River--in fact his office is connected to his home, and his wife assists Dr. Hands as well.

The waiting area is a large space with a TV, a Ms. PacMan game, and various toys for kids. Samples of formula, coupons for products, and informative literature is kept accesible on a hutch. Dr. Hands is a pet lover and also has a chinchilla in the office that kids love to look at. The wait to see Dr. Hands is variable, but for all the years that I have used him, I've never been put off for days if my son is ill. I get an appointment that day.

Dr. Hands has three examination rooms, each clean and decorated with posters and pictures of his family. The decor rarely changes, but what keeps clients coming back is his thorough examinations and informative assistance when a child is sick. He takes time with each patient and does not rush you if you have questions or concerns. He is a friendly man who is intelligent (he attended Cornell University) and offers that honest, tailored-to-you, one-to-one care for his patients that is definitely hard to find these days among the doctor mills that house 10 doctors in a cramped space. I absolutely recommend Dr. Hands as a physician and would use him again if I had another child.
