Dr. Terril will not spend longer than 2 minutes with you ever. My son went to treatment for Acne to him for 2 years. We were told when we started that he would try antibiotic treatment, and if it did not work, Dr. Terrill said he would place him on Accutane. Each and every appointment we went to we would ask about Accutane or any other treatment that would help with his acne, and we were told over and over again that there was another anitibiotic to try before Accutane. After the last visit, we finaly said this is enough and were informed that they did not offer Accutane at this office because it was too much work for the office to monitor it. (It seems there is an online monitoring system the doctors who prescribe it are required to do.) It is telling that they did not want to do anything that takes more time or effort, The office lady who checks you out is wonderful, but the rest of the staff is rude. Dr. Terrill is burnt out, and it seems he is just trying to make a quick buck. Especially considering his new sales tactic for products that you can buy online from the supplier for less.

Dr Terrill is a brilliant doctor. My son had a rash when he was 4 months old. The pediatrician and the surgeon could not diagnose the rash. Dr. Terrill recognized it immediately. After the rash was surgically removed, the surgeon sent the biopsy to Children's hospital. Dr. Terrill was correct. It was a mastocytoma, a very rare condition for infants. I always appreciate his wisdom and good judgement.

I am completely unsatisfied with my visits (5 total) to Dr. Terrill. He spent a total of 3-4 minutes in the room with me, including the visit when I had a small mole removed for testing. He called and told me the rest of the mole should be removed "just in case" (it should be noted that "the rest of the mole" is a microscopic edge that I can't even see) and I just get the feeling that all he's in it for is the money. It costs between $100-$200 for a mole removal, and to have to pay that twice because he didn't get the whole thing the first time? Absolutely not - I'm young and don't have that kind of cash and I felt completely taken advantage of. I also feel like the receptionists/nurses can be a little bit lacking in compassion and uninterested sometimes (that is to say, not all of them and not all the time, but enough for me to feel like I don't matter to them). I will absolutely not give him any more of my money, and I do not recommend him.

I still periodically use Dr. Terrill because I have an ongoing struggle with atopic dermatitis. I used to think that his answers are too fast and that he's
isn't very personable. However, I've come to the
conclusion that he only answers questions quickly because some conditions are "old hat" to him.
Also, I can get cortisone shots without necessarily
having to see him, and the rates are reasonable.
Yes, I would recommend him. He took care of
my shingles in a timely manner, also.

My husband and I have gone to Dr. Terrill for many years. About 5 years ago, we moved 180 miles away. We changed all our other physicians to those near where we live, but could not find a dermatologist we liked as well as Dr. Terrill. After trying two others, we ended up coming back to Plano whenever we need a dermatologist. He's worth the drive.

Pros: knows his stuff, answers questions

I use Dr Terrill for years now and I think he is great. He has helped me and my wife and kids. I will go to him as long as he continues to work. He helped my little girl with warts. She was so scared because we took her to other Dr's in the past to have them remover and they used the old painful treatment of removing warts by freezing them off. He simply gave her an oral treatment and they were gone and haven't came back. He knows what he is doing. Great Dr!

Dr. Terrill spent a total of 4 minutes on my office visit with him. He was quick with his answers and was not thorough was his explanations--it was like he didn't have time to tolerate my questions. Even worst, his surgery left a KELOID on my chest, and to this day he refuses to credit that his surgery caused a keloid scar.

Also, his clientele is mainly composed of caucasians. Being an Asian, he should have known that my race is more susceptible to keloid formation and should have been more careful with his surgery. I thought an accredited doctor would know that, but obviously he didn't. Also, his services are expensive--there are much cheaper dermotologists in the DFW metroplex.

I strongly recommend that you do not go see this doctor.

I visited Dr. Terrill after my last appointment with my previous dermatologist which they took almost an hour to see me even when i was early to my appointment. That was not the case at Dr. Terrill's office; they scheduled me at 1:30 pm and I saw the doctor at 1:37pm! The doctor was a great listener and provided a lot of explanation for my problem. I was told exactly what needed to be done and I was on my way! The staff was polite and asked if I wanted to schedule another appointment. I said, "sign me up"!. Because of the short wait and qualified doctor, I would recommend this place to anyone!

PROS: Great doctor, hardly any wait!
CONS:

Dr. Terrill was my dermatologist for a year. I had previously been going to another dermatologist and always had to wait for 45 minutes to an hour before I could even go into a patient room. Then I had to wait for another 15-25 minutes before the doctor came in. Dr. Terrill was so much faster. His waiting area is very nice, too. All of the furniture is classy and classical music plays in the background. I highly recommend him.
