I will be contacting a lawyer because my two oldest son had purchased blue cross blue shield insurance for them in 2007. He lost his job and the insurance cancelled. Douglas pediatrics has still been running the blue cross blue shield insurance card. They ran the card when i went up and visited them yesterday which was Sept. 29,2009. They ran the blue cross blue shield card and also my sons medicade card. THEY ARE TRYING TO GET MONY FROM BOTH INSURANCES. The office started off as a very good office to take your child. My 9,7 and 5 year old have been going there since they were born. I called blue cross blue shield myself and they told me that the account had been cancelled and that the doctors office should use the medicade card that is active and that they were not doing their job becuase they have not updated their system if a card from 2007 is still showing up. SO YES I WILL BE GETTING MY LAWYER BECAUSE EVERY TIME I CALL TO SPEAK WITH THE OFFICE MANAGER OR INSURANCE MANAGER THE LADIES AT THE DESK TELL ME THEY ARE NOT THERE. tHAT THEY ARE AT LUNCH AND THEY DONT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE BACK AND THAT THEY GO TO LUNCH WHEN THEY WANT TO AND RETURN WHEN THEY WANT TO.

Because they are one of the only pediatric offices in Douglasville that accept Medicaid they have no standard of patient care or respect. The office staff are not knowledgeable about anything. You can never get anyone on the phone. You wait in the office for long extended periods and when you see the doctor, they rush you out of the office because they are always behind schedule. They try to get as many patients in as possible, just to bill the insurance. Beware. They called and left a message saying my son needed to see a cancer specialist because of abnormal blood work. I called all day and finally had to go to the office to find out what was the problem. They had mixed his record up with another child but insisted that now my son see a endocrinologist but had no lab work to support this referral. I am a nurse and I would warn anyone not to go there.

My grandson Evan Cade House, birthdate of January 14, 2008, had a nose swab done and a chest x-ray at Douglas WellStar on October 16. I have not heard the results of either one of these tests. He is patient of Dr. Baldwin but on this day he saw Dr. Melendez. Please call me at my work number of 770-942-3375, my cell number 770-656-9873 or lastly my home number of 770-489-6786. I spoke to someone a week after these things were done and she was going to call me back. She stated that Douglas Peds had not received anything from hospital - ?? I have been left on hold for extended amounts of time and no one will pick up. Please call.

I have had no problem with the Dr.s or staff at Douglas Pediatrics. They have always been able to see my son for a sick baby appt. on the day we call, however, they are extremely slow in returning phone calls regarding insurance/prescription refill/lab results. I also having a problem with the cleanliness of the office and exam rooms, the main lounge could use a touch paint and good cleaning of the floor.

You have a sick child? I have not had a day when I needed to make a sick child visit and I could not get a same day appointment. The doctors are very nice and so is the staff.
