Dr. Borkowsky is GREAT!

I have been going to her for years and she has helped me on several occasions for different treatments. I was introduced to her when I needed a second opinion on a mole on my nose. I was really nervous and scared because my prior dermatologist was convinced that it was skin cancer. I was able to get an appointment immediately. I was very emotional and she calmed me down immediately. She was very gentle and I hardly felt any pain when she did the biopsy. I was also concerned with the healing because I had an event shortly thereafter and I was not sure if I would have a scar or heal in time. She gave me ointment which quickly healed the cut and I did not have a scar. She called me immediately after the results were in and spent ample time walking me through everything and answering all my questions.

I have also used her for acne treatment. She is very gentle on injections and she has prescribed medicine that has worked miracles.

I also really like that she does not rush you out of her office and I am always able to get an appointment within a week. I have referred her to many friends who all love her. She is awesome!

Pros: Gentle, thorough, makes you feel at ease

Cons: Nothing

I have received Botox injections from Dr. Borkowsky about 2 times per year over the past 4 years. She is always professional, thorough and extremely gentle! I tell all my friends that she has a very "light" touch.

Dr. Borkowsky is a perfectionist who doesn't settle for less than the best.

I have nothing but good things to say about her!

Would recommend highly to all my friends.

I highly recommend Dr. Borkowsky...she is very professional and spends a lot of time with her patients. I like that I don't feel rushed when I go there (unlike other doctors I have been to ) and she will spend time answering all my questions. I have a lot of moles and go twice a year for skin checks and could not be happier with her as my dermatologist!

Dr. Borkowsky is AMAZING!!

I was kind of anxious going in to have a mole examined because I get really nervous going to the doctor at all. She, very patiently, answered all of my questions and concerns and really took the time to make me feel comfortable before removing the mole. She was so gentle and managed to distract me through the whole procedure. When she said it was finished I couldn't believe it! It was so painless! Her follow up call with the results was also really comforting. In fact when the results were taking a little longer than originally planned she called to tell me not to worry, that the lab was really busy and she would be sure to let me know as soon as they got back! I really didn't expect that much caring for my emotional state from a busy Manhattan dermatologist.... definitely above and beyond! The incision is healing beautifully too, with four stitches I was expecting a big scar for the rest of my life. Thanks to Dr. Borkowsky's skill pretty soon it won't even be noticeable to me! (maybe she should go into plastics:)

She set me at ease through a scary situation. I went in convinced I had a serious problem (too much internet surfing!!) and she calmly walked me through the possibilities, answering all my questions and assuring me I would be fine. I could not have asked for more in a doctor! I cannot sing her praises enough! Go see her!!

I was surprised to see someone who had a "Terrible Experience" with Dr. Borkowsky. I have been with Dr. Borkowsky for years, and have had nothing but positive experiences. She always spends a lot of time with me, and her peels leave my skin immensely improved. Any peel can affect different people in different ways, but she always spells out all the risks verbally and in the written consents I sign before any treatment.

I'll apologize in advance for it's length, but when I give one star, I want to justify it completely. I went in to take care of some acne scars with a light chemical peel. I had done it before so I didn't think there would be a problem. Dr. Borkowsky seemed very confident in what she was doing. So I gave her all the facts. I told her exactly what I've had before, and I told her I'd be going on vacation the next week. She said that it would be no problem and gave me the higher dose. Instantly, my entire face was on fire. She said it was natural. I told her that it was getting unbearable but she said that she would fan me so that I could feel some relief (she did not remove the acid). She said that the acid was neutralize itself and that I shouldn't worry about the intense burning I was feeling on my face. "That will go away," she said.

When I got to work, the pain was still there. I was so uncomfortable so I decided to check myself out in the bathroom. I was horrified at what I saw-- my face was charred black; I truly looked like a burn victim. Of course, I immediately went back to her office in the middle of my work day. She saw me after making me wait for about 30 mins and the only thing she said was that she has never seen this reaction from anyone before.

I had to go home, not leave the house for a week (seriously, an entire week. My boss was kind enough to let me work from home). I had to apply tons of cream on my face. And eventually, my skin started peeling. After it peeled, my face started bleeding. After the bleeding stopped, half of my face turned black. And now, I'm in the process of seeking alternative treatment/ getting used to it.

I understand freak accidents happen, but the worst part of all of this was this doctor's callous attitude. She immediately started putting the blame on me, and after I asked her for a refund (because my make up and medication was costing 3x as much as the peel), she refused and said that these things happen. I would think that after seeing what she did to my face, she would at least feel bad enough to reimburse me a stinking $100. So my advice to you is to try a doctor who hasn't scarred a person for life and shed herself from any responsibility of it.
