I am new to the area and my children are used to having me with them when they see a dentist. I was discouraged from coming back with them but allowed to when I insisted. The exam room is huge and open with flat beds rather than dental chairs and children all lying next to strangers on either side. My children were extremely scared but silent which they told me later was because they were so frightened.

The doctor met with parents and went over exam results right in this room with many other children (and me) right there listening. There was no concern for confidentiality or privacy.

The dentist recommended extremely severe treatment including 2 extractions, 2 permanent retainers and 4 crowns for my 9-year-old. (along with some additional treatment, I stopped listening after that). He gave no other options beyond the extreme recommendation. I got 2 other opinions from different dentists who recommended MUCH more conservative treatment which was less traumatic, less expensive, and more appropriate in my opinion. (She only required 3 fillings, no crowns, no extractions or retainers).

That said, the staff was all lovely and perfectly polite. The office is beautiful particularly the waiting room and very fun and kid-oriented (until you see the exam room!)

First of all, parents be warned...you will not be invited back to watch your kids' teeth be cleaned! Insulting you say? Don't be offended! This policy is in place to help keep the kiddos calm. You see, we mommies tend to get this worried look on our faces, whether we notice it or not, or tend to ask a million questions; and, this all tends to make our kids a little anxious. It works, and it's great!
Oh, and another thing. The words "shot" and "injection" are never used in the office! The kids think they are getting a "pinch", and mommy likes it that way!
OK, about the office itself...adorable. It's all cowboy themed with a great waiting area for the kids and comfortable seating for the parents. Very cute!
My kids have been going to Dr. Rubin since he opened a few years ago. He is the nicest guy and his staff is so cheerful. The kids actually enjoy going there!

PROS: Great dentist, friendly staff, neat office
CONS: There isn't an adult version of this office!
