Dr. Slade also misdiagnosed me. I was having irregular bleeding, and all she did was put me on the pill and tell me I needed to lose weight to regulate everything. When the pill didn't work to stop my bleeding, I called to speak with her but could never talk to her directly. Her nurse would call me. The final straw was when the nurse very nonchalantly told me if the pill doesn't stop the bleeding then they would schedule me for a D&C. I said "so you mean to tell me you are going to do surgery on me with NO testing at all to find out what the root cause is?" She said "oh we'll have you come in the office first." That's when I decided to seek a 2nd opinion and I'm sure glad I did. My new physician is so caring and immediately scheduled me for testing. Come to find out I am pre-diabetic, I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) - which by the way Dr. Slade said I did not have. I also have Endometrial Hyperplasia and she also suspects Adenomyosis. Both cause a thick Endometrial lining which is causing my bleeding. I just had to have an Endometrial Biopsy 2 weeks ago because if left untreated, the Hyperplasia can lead to cancer. If I'd stayed with Dr. Slade, I may have very well ended up with it. That's scary!!!!

Prior to seeing Dr. Slade, I'd seen the nurse midwife, Evelyn. I've been complaining to her about my problem for well over a 1.5 years so she sent me to have an ultrasound. No follow up afterwards. When I returned 10 months later still complaining, she ordered blood. No follow up again. When I went in to see Dr. Slade 6 months later because of the bleeding, she based her treatment on those very old tests. She also did not examine me which I found odd. I would NOT recommend them to anyone I know. If you're not pregnant, I don't think they give a crap about you.

I was misdiagnosed by Dr.Slade. Thats it. It cost me a lot: monetary, emotionally, physically.

In addition the office is a nightmare. Nurse midlife never returns the call. Scheduling an appointment when you ill is impossible, since they do not have allowed time for it.
