.

McKibbins was our family dentist for about two years. I quit going to her because I had a loose tooth that she not only did not help -- she actually made worse. She put ribbon bonding on the tooth and told me to come back in two weeks. Two weeks later, the tooth had not improved. She asked me, "Did you take your antibiotics?" She had not prescribed any antibiotics. When I reminded her of this, she looked very sheepish. Several days later, I received a treatment estimate from my insurance company. Unbeknownst to me, she had requested an estimate to remove and cap my two front teeth, which would have cost approximately $5,000. I sought the opinion of another dentist. It turned out I had a fistula -- akin to an abscess -- in a tooth adjacent to my front teeth. The new dentist gave me a course of antibiotics and removed the bonding that McKibbins had done. The tooth was fine (and still is). Oh, by the way -- the problem was not with either of my front teeth. McKibbins would have yanked and capped two perfectly good teeth -- and left the one that had given me problems. It's been a few years now -- and I've still got all of my teeth, and they are perfectly healthy.

By the way -- her office staff turnover is awful. She started out with an amazing staff. Six months later, they were all gone. Her receptionist at the time of my last visit was so clueless. She was supposed to send out "thank you" cards to new patients. Instead, when she gave me my receipt, she gave me a blank, unfolded "thank you" card and a blank envelope.
