Dr. Ellison is a terrible, terrible, terrible physician. I cannot believe he is practicing or anyone would hire this man. He takes NO time with patients and just asks lots of questions, that don't actually lead to any benefits to the patient. He also doesn't listen. When asking me how much medication I took he interrupted me several times and actually wrote down the wrong amount. I had to correct him multiple times. He makes very quick judgements and "fixes" to problems I don't actually have. In fact, these "solutions" completely insulted me. I was too furious to talk by the end of my last appointment. Again, he just doesn't actually listen to patients. I also told him which pharmacy I went to and had to call 3 times to get the prescriptions to the correct pharmacy & had to call again because they were not prescriptions for the correct amount. It took way to long to get this corrected. To the patient who has had a positive experience with you, I wish that Dr. Ellison acted like that with all of his patients instead of the few and far between. I've talked with others in the area who have had similar awful experiences as mine.

My experience with Dr. Ellison is similar to Sean and Dawn. I am a professional executive with a major corporation in Greensboro and an advanced degree. Unless I bring my husband with me, Dr. Ellison will not participate in the meeting in a productive and professional manner. His general technique is to ask, "What would you like for me to do?" or "What else do I need to know?" instead of assuming the role of the doctor. He is a tremendously poor listener and stares into space while I answer his inane questions. Worst doctor I've ever seen. He always suggests a reported pain is related to muscle stress (later I found it was not after seeking alternative treatment) or imaginary or "nothing can be done." Save yourself trouble and find another doctor. I plan to next week.

I have been a patient of Dr Ellison for 18 years. I find him to be competent, concerned and a great Dr. I would recommend him to anyone who wants a Dr who cares. He has helped me through many situations and has always given me the right to disagree or voice my opinion. For the person who found him to be so bad I can only say I have never seen any behavior close to this from Dr. Ellison. I would trust him in any situation to keep my well being at the highest level of professionalism possible. Some people just don't gel and then there are those that if they don't hear what they want they make a decision on that person. I would pay no attention to that rating of a fine Dr.

I was recently diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer a week prior and after this news he was the first person I saw after this devastating diagnosis. I asked for 2 blood tests (T4 - T3 ratios and heavy metals since I was exposed to that at work). He refused my requests, insulted me, labeled me as someone who was trying to change the treatment plan (which I was not) and before he threw us out of his office he insulted my wife. I have never been treated with such disrespect from anyone like that especially a so called professional. All I asked for was two simple tests and he threw me out of his office 28 minutes later. I am so glad this is a one party consent state for recordings because we caught the whole outburst on tape. The more I listen to it the more crazy he sounds. He is definitely an unprofessional doctor to say the least and not a very nice person. Remember this was a little more than a week after a Cancer Diagnosis and he throws me and my wife out of his office for requesting two tests. I guess his ego got bruised because I asked him questions he would rather not bother answering. This is pathetic behavior from anyone, especially one who is supposed to be a professional. A professional he is not!

...I was told that he would be my primary care doctor, but when I went in and mentioned I had been having chest pains, he told me it must be reflux and to just take OTC medicine (I mentioned that they extended to my right arm). I told him that my friends and family wanted to get me tested, and he asked what I wanted...I said I don't know what kind of tests needed to be done. He asked what I wanted to do about it, and I said nothing personally (half joking). He just didn't seem worried about it, so I never went back.
