Finding a new doctor is always a pain point for me. You really dont know what youre going to get. I recently went to Dr Daniels which started off pretty rocky. First scheduling is a nightmare. You can only make appointment 3 days per week and then there is a long block of time (during a normal persons lunch time, when they have time to make appointments) that they are unavailable. I was told that I would have to send in all my records before scheduling an appointment. No problem, I understand that. During scheduling I specifically stated that I wanted my hormones tested because I had been having some heat flashes. The response was of course, shes an expert in that. So now we get to the day of the appointment. The doctor arrives and starts jotting notes on a napkin (not even a chart with real paper) and apparently didnt take any time to review my records which as I mentioned above, had to be sent in before the appointment. When I asked how my hormones would be tested she stated she thought there was no validity to the testing and if I had a period, I had hormones. Again, not an expert but I have enough females in my life to know that one can in fact have their hormones tested and can have imbalances. When I asked her thoughts about my heat flashes, she said quote I have no idea. Comforting. Then she proceeded to conduct a pap smear even though I told her that I had one just months ago. When she removed the clamp she closed it on my cervix which was very painful. Then she told me she could feel my ovaries better by performing a rectal exam. That might be TMI but the point it that it was first, not at all what I needed to have done and second, made for an extremely uncomfortable situation. All and all I feel like I was tested on things to just charge my insurance versus actually trying to figure out what is happening with my body. In addition, its been over a week and I havent heard anything about my test results on the 2nd pap that needed to take place. My primary was able to give me results in 2 days. I will not be returning to this provider and believe that health care should be like any other kind of service. If you get horrible service you shouldnt have to pay for.
