I had to wait and hour and a half in a very hot waiting room. Dr Patrick was very nice in the introduction, but after learning that I had a Blighted Ovum, I felt like I was hurried through the rest of the appointment. I was in shock. I was told my options. D&C, wait it out, or take a pill to induce miscarriage. She said the hormone levels would help determine what to do. When the results came back she said from my levels she suggested I have a D&C. I told her I didn't feel comfortable having a procedure unless absolutaly necessary. She brushed it off as no big deal. I got a second opinion. This Dr said there def. are risks to any procedure even if small. The second Dr. listened to me. She allowed me the time to think about my choices, and let ME make the decision. I decided to try the pill. It worked with no problems. I'm sure Dr. Patrick is a good Dr., I just didn't feel that our communication was a good match. I feel she suggested what was easier for her, what she would do, but wasn't listening to my concerns well enough. I was told I could call her with any questions, but that didn't do me much good since I wasn't being heard. Dr. Patrick's receptionist could use some manner training. She was loud ( I could hear and understand a complete phone conversation she was having with another patient.) I also felt uncomfortable asking her too many questions.
