My daughter has been seeing Dr. Sheikh "Dr. Shake" since she was 9 months. My son has been seeing him ever since he was born. I changed hospitals to make sure he would be the attending physician when my son was born. He serves North Central Baptist. His nurse, Becky is wonderful with my kids, as well as everyone else's. He's got a huge fish tank in the waiting area, and separate areas for sick and well kids. Also, he usually never has more than 2 kids in teh waiting area at a time and if he does, they're both in for well checks since they're on the well kids side. He has wonderful manners, is a great listener, and allows parents to parent and encourages nursing as long as possible. I absolutely adore Dr. Sheikh. Nurse Becky, as my daughter calls her, is a doll. She's great with the kids, and my daughter enjoys the band aids she puts on her dolly when her brother gets a "boo boo." The staff is extremely patient and understanding. As a courtesy they want you to call and cancel 24 hours in advance if you can't make it for some reason. Also, try not to be too late. As a mom of 2, I tend to be late sometimes but I always call. They take all major health care groups and I think medicaid and Chip. They're off of Blanco, and although we've never lived in the north central/Stone Oak area, it's always worth the drive. We'r eon the north east side right now, but even when we lived in Schertz I made the trip to see Dr. Sheikh. Oh, and they have great customer service. If you need to make a payment plan for some reason they're really flexible. Also, if you need to call with a question for whatever reason, the receptionist gets Becky to call you back by the end of the day. Moreover, if you need to call in the middle of the night, Dr. Sheikh WILL cal lyou back no matter what time it is...Believe me, I know from experience. lol. I'ts a great place to take your kids. As a first time parent, I was thinking a pediatrician's office was just a place to take a kid

PROS: Great staff, answer calls promptly, kid-friendly, mommy approved :)
CONS: If your kid gets sick Friday, they close at 12:30; no Sat. Appts
