Dr. Sherman has done two rounds of oral surgery on my daughter, and he's been wonderful. He remembers details about her, so that he can chat with her and make her feel comfortable. And the work he's done, which was tricky, has been perfect. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

I went to Dr. Sherman for a consultation on getting the wisdom teeth in my lower jaw removed. I already had the wisdom teeth in my upper jaw (that were through the gumline) removed by my dentist in recent months, but my lower wisdom teeth are still below the gumline. Dr. Sherman was friendly from the beginning, and asked about my hometown, my university, my career, etc. He told me about his family and his schooling and I found him to be very pleasant. He looked at the xrays that were taken by his assisstant and recommended that I take no action at this time because my wisdom teeth are too close to the nerve in my jaw. He said that if they were removed there would be significant risk of nerve damage so there was no need to take the teeth out since they have not been causing any problems. I appreciated his easygoing, friendly attitude, his honest, straightforward opinion, and his recommendation to wait and see. He gave me several articles on wisdom teeth extraction to take with me. The office staff were a bit brusque but not rude, and seemed very competent in their jobs.

Pros: Very friendly, easy going, competent

Cons: small office

THe staff was cool, I was not used to the way they do the exams, they take the x-rays first and then look at the mouth which is opposite from the other exams I have had over the years. After the x-ray was done, the doctor questioned me like he'd been trained for the Gulag. I don't know what my referring Doctor told him about me but this oral surgeon clearly didn't think I was entitled to be examined even though he had not looked at my mouth or my x-rays. He made snap judgements about my intentions that I was looking for free surgery that requires several years of orthodontia, up to a weeks hospital stay and my mouth wired shut for 2 months. I took this as a sign that he was #1) irrational for thinking anyone would ever want to have to go through that, and #2) never wanted to examine me in the first place and he was telling me to leave so that's what I did.
Why didn't he just not accept the referral in the first place, so we could have both saved time?

Pros: intimidating and brusque so I never got the chance to find out he may be a good or not

Cons: reaching retirement age and doesn't give patients the benefit of the doubt

When you walk into an office, you wanted to be greeted with a smile and treated with respect. The office staff here is NOT friendly. Not only is this office extremely abrasive, they fail to explain what exactly needs to be done or what they're doing for that matter! The office manager is horrible to deal with and just straight out rude. Her tone of voice is NOT friendly nor helpful, and she just made the whole experience uncomfortable.

Dr. Sherman is a very competent doctor, but wished he'd be more helpful in explaining what and why the procedures need to be done. Although the doctor may be great, the office environment is extremely important. Walked out of there feeling very dissatisfied with their service.

He took care of my all wisdome tooth. The first one was done within 3 minutes with no pain. He is little bit moody sometimes, but his technique is amazing. He was very knowledged, and I felt safe. His office also took care very well of my insurance and billing, and I was really happy.
