I have been seeing Dr. Sherr for over ten years and have had a great experience. She is very knowledgable and honest. She never does any unnecessary work and explains everything to me. Since I started coming to her, I had two children and now take them both to her for cleanings. They enjoy getting their teeth cleaned and are never afraid. I would recommend this dentist if you need someone trustworthy and ethical.

I am so angry with my appointment there. And I seriously want anybody reading this page to give this dentist a very big second thought before going in there. Seriously my blood is boiling all day. I'm actually not a very critical person and give people the benefit of the doubt even when mistakes can be made but I warn you in advance, pick another dentist....

I ended up emailing a doctor friend in Orange Country who is very good, but I didn't have coverage for his office. This might explain my story:

Hey buddy. I hope all is well. I have a question for you regarding my new dentist.

So I went to this dentist, the place wasn't very nice, but when I sat in the chair I felt a little more comfortable with the assistant...

So they take my xrays and the dentist comes back and starts firing off that I have four cavaties, not really any explanation, I really wanted to know where, so I kept asking. She never told me. Anyhow, I would glance over the dentist's shoulder as she's telling the assitant which cavaties, and I can tell by the black in the xray and the stickiness that I definetely had a cavity.

Anyhow, here is my main concern... So one of my back molars chipped off a bit from a gobstopper, then she tells me that she can't tell on the x-ray because it might be bad, but I might need a root canal. So the assistant takes an x-ray of a tooth on the other side of my mouth, then I get out the chair and they take me to the front desk, where I am asking, well is it a root canal or cavity, then shes telling me to find out what my insurance covers, I was like I need to know what it is before I call them... I am so confused on which tooth they're talking about or anything. Also, do you make patients sign something that says, "if the doctor decides during surgery, that they decide you need a root canal then initial the paper"? I DID... Anyhow I am rambling now to you but still trying to decide if I am over reacting or if they or just sketchy, or maybe the assistant and dentist were not on the same page. OR maybe the chipped tooth was just a cavity and the potential root canal was on the other side of my mouth, and let me tell you, neither places have any pain at all. whtacha think?

I think that if you dont know whats going on do not go forward. you must be able to understand what is going on completely. you must have informed consent on all that is going on. if they wont take the time to show you and explain in lamemans terms then go somewhere else for sure... what city are you in maybe i know someone

Thanks! I am in Hollywood, I have unitedhealthcare insurance. I would drive down there if its covered at your office?

Let me check...

Also, I noticed two black hairline scratches on my front teeth that weren't there before. Could that possible be from that sharp metal object that she ripped through my gums and made a few wrong slices?

One of the best dentists I have found so far. Very nice and caring doctor and great hygenists. Definitely will not take advantage and do unnecessary work on your teeth, which is sadly the case with many other doctors.
