Dr Levin is truly the worst doctor I've ever seen. I was referred to her after my PCP discovered a mass, so naturally I was terrified at the thought that I might have cancer. The office staff was wonderful when I called in tears. Thy were very understanding and they scheduled an appointment for me the next day.
I saw Dr Levin for only a few appointments. During each of those appointments, none of them lasted longer than 10 minutes and one of them was for a procedure. During none of them did she ask about my symptoms, do a thorough work-up or even a physical exam. And finally, during none of them did she attempt to provide me any comfort, offer to answer questions (she actually seemed irritated that I had questions), or give me the final diagnosis (I had to read it for myself when I requested a copy of the pathology report so I could take it to another doctor for a second opinion). Worst of all, when I went in for my procedure, she apparently forgot or did not refer back to my chart or possibly did not even make note of the fact that I was not able to take pain medication for the procedure and she did not even use so much as local anesthesia to help with the pain. I had a hysteroscopy and the mass removed, with no more than the equivalent of naproxen, due to her lack of concern and her carelessness. I have never been in so much pain in my life and all the while I had to listen to her insincere, patronizing voice saying, "a little cramp now" and "you're doing great."
I get the very strong impression that Dr Levin was only interested in the obstetrics side of her practice. I have no problem with doctors who want to specialize is certain areas, but they should be respectful enough of future patients, especially those who are in crisis and facing the possibility of a life-threatening disease, to declare that specialization. I would strongly urge any patient with a gynecological disorder to find a doctor other than Dr Levin.
