This is pretty much the same review I posted on Signature Smiles' other review page. Only this time I don't know what mbank (as opposed to Janewww) is talking about.

Everyone at this office is friendly and helpful. I have not once been overcharged or had anything recommended to me that I did not need. If anything, I have been talked out of things I thought I needed but didn't.

A big problem is (or so I have heard from several dentist/hygienist friends) that people don't take care of minor tooth problems, so they turn in to major problems. Guess what? Major issues cost a lot more than minor ones. Then people get upset when they're told their teeth aren't as great as they think (a pride thing, I guess) and don't really understand how expensive these procedures are. It's 2010 people, brush your friggin' teeth. It will save you from a lot of headaches down the road (literal and financial).

The bottom line is Dr. Prather is a great dentist and the whole staff is top notch. I recommend them to all of my friends and will continue to do so.

I first visited this office (1913 Church Street) when it was run by Dr. Van Ranken. He was an amazing dentist. He was hilarious and fun. Me and my entire family loved going to him. But when Dr. Van Ranken retired, his practice was bought by Steven Scallions. He renamed the practice Dental Links. Dr. Scallions was terrible! This man stole money from me, my insurance, and probably his own mother if he could! I could tell I was getting terrible dentistry from the start. The staff was terrible, the place was filthy. I contacted the Better Business Bureau, the insurance regulatory board, did everything I possible could to stop this injustice and this man made off like a bandit. Eventually they began sending me bills for work that I had done almost five years ago. My insurance had paid for it but apparently Dr. Scallions just deposited the check and never added it to my account. My lawyer told me that they could never take me to court, so I just ignored them.

Finally, I had a terrible tooth ache- I?m talking bad. I was about to rip the tooth out, I couldn?t stand it. I needed to go to a dentist but the place I had been going to after Scallions, was closed for Memorial Day. Needing immediate attention, I went back to Dental Links. Plus they had my x-rays; I was no longer on my parent?s dental insurance so I would have had to pay for that somewhere else. I just walked in to the office on my way to work. I was completely stunned?.

The atrocity that was formerly Dental Links had now become Signature Smiles. I was greeted by the friendliest staff I had ever met. The office was completely remodeled and very cozy inside. They saw me within ten minutes! And I was very surprised when I was greeted by Dr. Paige Boone instead of Dr. Scallions. She had since bought the practice from Dr. Scallions and remodeled the entire building! She?s young, pretty, and very, very sweet. Her entire staff was super friendly. They?re all females, which I found very comforting. I don?t enjoy having huge hairy man hands shoved into my mouth. I had one-on-one time with Dr. Boone; she walked me through the causes of my problems and showed me on the computer chart where the problems were. They also have flat screen TV?s in front of every chair, which was definite plus while I was waiting. After Dr. Boone took care of me, they took me to the ?Treatment Coordinator? and laid out my entire treatment, the fees, the procedures, everything. I was blown away. Never have I ever been to such a thorough and attentive dentist. They were incredible.

I knew that the bill with Dr. Scallions was still probably floating around, so I just decided to ask them about it. They told me that I did have a balance with them, not with Dr. Scallions, because they had bought the practice, including all debts, from Dr. Scallions. I was extremely disappointed. I thought, ?Wow I?ve found this amazing dentist and this fake bill is still haunting me.? But then, I simply explained to the billing person what had happened, she looked at my benefits online as proof that my former insurance had paid the bill. Once she saw that, she instantly apologized for still sending me bills. She said that I wasn?t the first person that Dr. Scallions stole money from (go figure!). And that as long as they can prove that insurance paid Dr. Scallions, then technically Dr. Scallions owed the money to them. I never saw that bill again!

Overall, I would HIGHLY SUGGEST going to Dr. Boone. Her entire staff is super sweet and gentle. I am deathly afraid of needles and when Dr. Boone injected the numbing stuff, I DID NOT FEEL A THING!!! She is amazing with the needle and constantly asks you if you?re okay all throughout the procedures. Absolutely Incredible! As long as she?s in business, I will always go back to her. Hands down, best dentist in town.

I have been a patient at Signature Smiles since January of 2009 and couldn't imagine going anywhere else! I always feel like I'm going to visit friends when I go there. The staff is so friendly & easy to talk to.
I have always had a hard time finding a dentist I can TRUST & that understands my concerns, until now!! Dr. Boone is by far the Best Dentist I have been to in my 28 years of going to the dentist. She is up to date on her knowledge of denistry, professional, friendly, patient, prompt, and a master at denistry! I leave her office feeling satisfied every time & looking forward to my next visit. Her prices are great compared to other dentists in the area & she accepts many insurances! I have referred over 5 friends to her & will continue referring friends and family to Dr. Paige Boone!
Thank you Signature Smiles for giving me my confidence back & a beautiful smile!!

Signature Smiles will overcharge you and will not correct their mistakes. They are very pushy. They know the medical laws and they know how to get extra money out of you and MAKE YOU pay it!
