Carly,
Do you seriously blame Dr. Singar for you getting pregnant? Really?? How about being more proactive with your birth control. If I didn't hear back in two weeks, I would call and follow up. Until I received my birth control, I would use condoms or abstain from sex if you didn't want to get pregnant. I guess some people have to blame someone else for everything.

The week before I went into labor with my daughter, my blood pressure started to shoot up-going from 117/76 to 164/94 everyday. I was told to go to the ER immediately. Once there my BP came down to 130's/90's. This dr. walked into my room, looked at my chart and said I was making my BP spike because of stress. I explained to her that I was not stressed nor anxious and that it was happening intermittently for days. Not knowing me and looking at me for 5 minutes she said it was all in my head. I was livid. This ER visit was the day before I went into labor. After I delivered my daughter my BP still did not return to its normal level and the doctors and nurses were dumbfounded as to why. (I was told as soon as I deliver- my BP should reduce immediately) I had tests done everyday to find out why-with no answer. So much for Dr. Singaravelu's opinion that I was stressing over the delivery. I would understand if they didn't know why it was happening but I refuse to be blindly blamed because a doctor doesn't have an answer. She is an idiot and I will never return to Bon Secours as long as she is still practicing there. I am pregnant with my second child and now have to travel farther for a caring OBGYN.

Unfortunately my pregnancy ended in a d&c due to a missed miscarriage. She did the surgery and follow up care which included a hospital stay afterwards due to some complications from the surgery. I would def NOT recommend her to anyone and will certainly NOT ever use her again myself should I become pregnant again. I would have to write a book here to detail all the issues I had with her before and following the d&c but bottom line I would not send any patient her way. I can agree with the one poster as she does not return calls. She had me leave her with all my numbers so she could check on me daily while I was going through my miscarriage and let me know about booking the surgery for me, she did not call me or return any calls until I showed up in the emergency room at the hospital and had her paged there. The shame is I very much like Dr. Brunn, he delivered my son 5 years ago and I have always thought he was great but because he did not perform my d&c he did not handle my resulting problems(although were it not for the sonogram that HE ordered for me when I showed back up in agonizing pain I probably would have hemorraged at home in my bed because Singaravelu was so positive she could not have left any tissue in my uterus) and since he is in the same medical center as Singaravelu I won't be making an appointment there if/when I need an OB again unless she is no longer there.

I had to put up a review for Dr. Singaravelu when I saw she only got two stars on the previous review.

I love Dr. Singar. She was the head surgeon that saved my life when my fallopian tube burst and I went to the emergency room. She also managed to save me from being slit from pubic bone to belly, something her associate Dr. Brunn wanted to do, and gave me a smaller incision horizontally instead.

Consequentially, she is the Ob/Gyn I chose to go to for my pregnancy.

Not only does she have a wonderful bedside manner, but I find her to be genuinely compassionate toward her patients. She has a lot of common sense, and she never sends you in for any test that will cost you unnecessary copays. At the same time she IS a cautious doctor and will always double check you if she has any doubts whatsoever.

I haven't had my baby yet, but I have to say I will be very disappointed if I have anyone else deliver me.

I would like to say also not to let the Port Jervis Community Medical Care office reflect badly on Dr. Singar. The office is incredibly busy and somewhat disorganized--something I would blame on the office personnel and not the doctors. I have had no problems with her Milford, PA office getting back to me about anything or being disorganized in the least.

Dr. Singaravelu handled my care after the birth of my son in 2007. During my postpartum visit, I asked if it would be possible to have a Mirena inserted. She said it would be possible and that she'd look into it and get back to me. After about a month, I hadn't heard anything, so I started calling her.

At first I just left messages and was told that she would get back to me. Of course, she never did. I started calling every day. I never got to actually talk to the doctor. After a few days of calling, the best I got was that the receptionist said "Oh yeah, Dr. Singar asked me to look into this Mirena thing for you." Nearly TWO MONTHS after I'd initially asked for it.

Anyway - I never got the Mirena from them and I did end up getting pregnant again when my son was only 4 months old. I immediately found a more competent OB practice.

I'm grateful for my beautiful daughter who is just a year younger than her brother, but if we can't trust our doctors to help us protect ourselves from a pregnancy we're not ready for, who can we trust?
