Dr. Smith is extremely understanding of good, kind people who are down on finances. One of the greatest fruits of the spirit is charity. I owe him money, but he knows my limited situation, and doesn't sound like a used car salesman when I come in for treatment. In fact, I've always picked the tooth I wanted fixed, and he agreed. He doesn't have the "white coat-itis syndrome". I pray my husband finds work so we can get my teeth all fixed. They started breaking and going weak from the inside-out after gastric bypass surgery. Dentists should know what this surgery can do to teeth, no longer able to absorb calcium and other vital nutrients. Before he knew me, he thought I might have been a drug addict in the past or present. I was so thin and sickly looking because I just couldn't eat without getting sick. At 5'10 and 145 lbs at 38 years old, I did look like I had a drug problem, but I've never and would NEVER do drugs. I think this is why he doesn't prescribe pain medicine. If you have pain or have a root canal that is very sore for a few days, don't count on ANY pain relief. When I had exposed nerves from teeth that broke off, I asked for pain medicine. I really needed it, and don't ever ask for it. He prescribed me an antibiotic. If you have a high pain tolerance, I'd recommend him. He takes pride in his work. What bugs me, is that I paid for a crown, and as we were fixing the bite on it, he drilled through to the metal. He put it on, and said it would be fine. It will hold up. I wanted to cry. Having that put on is not cheap, and the cosmetic feature is a great part of the decision to pay extra. He's nice, but I'm surprised he didn't re-do the crown.
