My dentist sent me to Dr Smith for a root canal. I was in severe pain at the time. Office staff was pleasant and friendly. Dr Smith was also very friendly and as gentle as could be. He seemed truely sympathetic with my pain level and was trying very hard to make me as comfortable as I could be. I still have to complete the treatment, but so far he has been great!

This was my first root canal, at first he was nice but thought it was strange that he had me come in for three separate office visits for one root canal, billed my insurance three separate bills of 1000, and spent verry little time drilling, almost whole appointment was spent numbing me all three times. Then I go back to dentist for the crown and after they x ray me I'm told they can not give me crown because root canal was not completed. After returning to his office he had a terrible attitude and didn't finish numbing me and started drilling I raised my had to tell him it was hurting and he started yelling at me and said do u want me to finish this or not, so I let him keep going as tears rolled down my face my body started to shake from the pain, he then got really mad, stopped drilling and started yelling at me saying he has done all he can for me and that ill just have to go some where else and get my tooth pulled. I asked him to refund my three copy and billing of my insurance because they only allow 1 root canal a year. He then told me he went over and beyond for me already and I'm lucky he even attempted to finish because I don't keep my mouth open wide enough??? We argued a little and then he walked out the room and disappeared. I am now up at 3 in the morning with throbbing pain over a year latter and no health insurance to have it pulled, am thinking about reporting him to action 9 as well as other places, this pain is the worst.

I found the other reviews completely misleading and almost made me cancel my appointment. I was in pain and decided to not put it off any longer. I was in and out in 30 minutes pain free. No idle chit chat, just get in the chair and get the job done.

If you were refereed to this dentist it is because you need a root canal. If you don't understand that then take that up with your normal dentist.

Don't go to this doc if you need your hand held.

Go to this doc to get a quick and painless root canal.

I was referred to Dr Smith because I was in alot of pain and needed a root canal. My dentist was able to get me in same day to get my root canal. Dr Smith had a very nice staff and made me feel very comfortable. I hate going to the dentist, but he made this situation a lot less painful. He wsa able to quickly go in and fix my problem and I never felt a thing. I am glad that my dentist sent me to him.

Worst experience ever went in for a consultation cause I was in pain to see so called Doctor Smith came in looked at x-rays and told me to open my mouth. He was going to stick the needle to start the root canal, didnt expalin anything. I sotpped him told him to give me more info...he ignored me and said if you want to do it its fine if not its fine too. Asked to get my x-rays which they made me take there. Cause said mine were too old 3 months earlier. I went to the front desk and asked the receptionist for a copy of xrays they had taken she said she would ask the doctor came back and said no. With the assistant that was in the room i asked why she said the ones i bought were the same. I left i was so shocked of what just happened I called my general dentist for medication they said to call Smiths office back that they should give me a prescription. So I did the assistant picked up I told her and she said that cause they had not done anything they couldnt. I aske to speak to the doctor she refused and told me to go to the emergency room that he had left this was at 3:30 pm and 10 minutes after I had left.

I was referred to Dr. Smith for a root canal. When I got to his office, I explained my extreme pain and the fact that I am a nervous dental patient. He proceeded to numb the area. He then proceeded to clamp the dam before I was numb. It was extremely painful and I told him so. He still proceeded & after many attempts & tears rolling down my face, it was attached. The area was still not numb and the pain was excruciating. When I got really upset, he detached the dam and told me I needed to leave his office. He still sent a bill for the numbing shot. I did have the procedure done shortly after that by a much more professional endodontist with no problems at all.

I went to Dr. Smith after my (inexperienced) dentist thought I might need a root canal. When I visited Dr. Smith and asked for his opinion about whether the root canal was necessary, he was very rude, said "I'll do whatever you want", and "pushed" me out of his office. Basically, he seemed only interested in doing the root canal. Isn't he supposed to be the expert and offer his expert opinion? Because I was uncomfortable with his response, I decided to visit a second well-regarded endodontist and, after taking additional x-rays, he determined the root canal was unnecessary. A visit to another dentist, and the subsequent filing, also verified that the root canal was unnecessary. After speaking with other people familiar with Dr. Smith, they informed me he has a history of performing questionably necessary root canals. Unless it's obvious that you need a root canal, I would highly recommend you get a second opinion before visiting Dr. Smith as it appears he will perform a root canal whether necessary or not. Also, I did not appreciate his attitude and would not definitely not recommend him.
