I had just relocated to the state of Georgia from another state and Dr. Snyder was not interested in obtaining my previous medical records, diagnosis and method of treatment from my previous primary care physican who had cared for me for the last seven years. Upon my initial visit, Dr Snyder said he wouldn't prescribe me any medications (even those I had been on with my other Doctor for years) without first having me complete blood work and labs. He said my the thyroid symptoms I was having were consistent with depression and wrote in my chart (he read it verbatim to me in the office) that I was in denial over having depression. He advised me that he would address maintenance medications a week later at my follow up visit. Upon coming in for the follow up visit, he asked how a certain prescription was working out for me. I said, I didn't get any prescriptions and he asked me why in a manner that seemed derogatory and blameful. I explained to him that he did not write any and had told me that he wouldn't write any until my follow up. He took a closer look at his file and realized his error but did not apologize for chastising me without warrant. Further Dr. Snyder denied me having Thyroid disease and told me he would put me on a low dosage of 25 mcg then recanted his statement saying that he would bump me up from my current dosage of 150mcg to 175 mcg. Dr. Snyder also told me I had diabetes (which I was unaware of) after having told me on my first visit that my blood sugar looked good. He said he wouldln't recommend me monitoring it, but that he would simply put me on glucophage to remedy the issue.
When I expressed other concerns about my health Dr. Snyder said he was unwilling to prescribe me medications for them regardless of how I felt about it. When I offered to sign something to have my records sent to him so that he could review them himself, he declined. I asked him what my alternatives were and he became upset with me and discharged me as a patient stating that he didn't feel comfortable with me as a person or with treating me. I explained to him that I simply wanted to know what he would recommend instead of what my treatment plan had been for years and what course of action needed to be taken. He told me he wouldn't be seeing me anymore, nor would he be writing me any prescriptions and that I would have to suffer.
