Personally, I found Dr. Soolari to be very clinical, cold and dispassionate. I've had periodontal disease for many years, and he basically dismissed any idea of "maintenance treatment." In fact, he asked, "what are you going to maintain?" He did rattle off several options but said they were very expensive, so my best option was to extract the teeth and get dentures, especially since I'm a smoker. He then likened my teeth to an automobile that needs to be replaced. I never once saw him smile or exhibit any positive emotion. While performing the probing exam, he instructed his assistant to note that a few of my teeth were "hopeless." I saw him in his White Oak office -- maybe he has more of a bedside manner with his patients in Potomac. I was close to tears and couldn't wait to get out of his office. I didn't particularly find his office staff to be all that friendly with the exception of the hygienist/technician. He was extremely friendly and accommodating. I'm quite certain that Dr. Ahmad Soolari will never look inside my mouth again as this visit was a "consultation." Perhaps his diagnosis/treatment plan is accurate, but I do feel that he could have conveyed the information in a more caring manner because, after all, I am a human being with feelings. I'd also like to add that his diagnosis wasn't predicated on the fact of tooth decay which I do not have, but my pockets are deep and there is bone loss. Were it not for perio, I would be quite happy with my teeth!
