I had a horrible horrible experience with my first neurologist (talk about lack of compassion!) and I was luckily transferred to Dr. Stern's office. I have been in his and Dr. Kimber's care since Feb. 2007 and I can't say enough good things about Southern California Institute of Neurological Surgery. Both Dr. Stern & Dr. Kimber are wonderful! Dr. Stern is is one of the BEST neurological surgeons in North County and you would be lucky to be in his, his associates' and his office staff's care!!!

After a day on the seventh floor being taken great care of by nurses, a guy named James whose from Neurology who was very helpful, A broker dude to help me apply for help paying my bills, and a great roomie to talk to, Everyone was telling me I was going to be at Palomar for several days of tests and exams, followed by my base skull tumor removal, cancerous or benign, it was going to be brain surgery.I had a CT and two MRI's I had the unbelievable displeasure of meeting Dr. Stern. What a jerk!, His first words were, Im discharging you. I can't do your surgery. You need to go to los angeles. Me, my parents, my friends, All of our first words were WHAT? in unison. He told me my situation was not immediately life threatening, but one little thing wrong and I could die. Okay , What exactly about that isn't life threatening? My mom asked me if he'd been drinking. My friends said let's get you the heck outta here. That guy ain't gonna operate on you! He has the rudest bedside manner and no sensitivity at all. I cannot believe this man is allowed to interact with parents and family members, let alone patients.
