We went in October 2011 for a consultation for a photo facial - basically a med spa service. Even so the office demanded 3 pages of information for a consult. This is just to see of we wanted to make an appointment for service. When questioned the up front person about such lengthy paperwork for a consultation, she became rude. The attitude was " fill out everything on all three pages or just leave." So we left. Rude office. Office manager was slightly less rude. I will never step into that office again. I'm sure the Clinic owner would have treated us differently, but I doubt she and her partner will ever hear about this. We live in the neighborhood.

I was scheduled to see Dr. Jeng for follow up, but was put in the physician assistant's schedule instead. For my skin condition, I needed a board certified dermatologist, not a physician's assistant. The physician's assistant recommended an expensive procedure, but send the med tech to tell me.

I got my records and didn't go back.

My follow up visit was scheduled with the physician's assistant. A physician's assistant is not a substitute for a board certified dermatologist. I declined the expensive procedure that she recommended.

I have been a patient of Dr. Jeng??s for about 4 years. I have found her to be very professional and also a very warm caring person. She and her staff are very thorough and as a result of an annual evaluation she caught and identified a small mole which provided to be cancerous. I am so appreciative of the fact that she was able to discern this irregularity of skin color and take action to remove this cancer before it spread. I whole heartedly recommend Dr. Jeng and the staff of Spicewood Dermatology.
A very satisfied patient. Sam S.

I had an apt today @ Spicewood Dermatology and had a wonderful experience. Dr. Jeng and her staff are very friendly they take the time listen and help people. I have been to other doctors that just want to rush me out of the room. Dr. Jeng explained in detail all of my questions and I am very thankful. I would recommend them to anybody.

I've been going here for a few years and can't believe the bad reviews. Dr Jeng is WONDERFUL. I love the staff, had never once had a problem. They all seem efficient and friendly and I recommend it highly!

I needed some help with a skin problem and although Dr Jeng was not available, the staff squeezed me in to see Dr Thrash, who is also just great. I really appreciate their help and enthusiastic effort to do so as I was really in need.

I have had a lot of experience with this clinic. Worked here. The way they run things is just insane. First off the esthetician does not have ANY schooling. The office manager David Jeng and his wife Dr. Jeng just assumed if they put her in this position after working as a medical assistant for 3 months she'd wing it and do a good job. RIDICULOUS.
Next off the laser technician has no schooling either, would you like someone to be removing hair and sun spots if she has no past experience? I don't think I would.
About 3/4ths of everyone David Jeng hires is under the age of 25 years old with NO previous experience this is including the medical assistants. The turn over rate for employees is also ridiculous, people realize it's a dysfunctional environment and leave so theres new employees every 3 months or so.
I have to say that the front staff is probably the most unorganized due to the fact there's only one person doing billing up front. They schedule patients for 15 minute appointments, even for surgeries, just so they can see lots of patients, it's all about money there, not patient care.
So if you like being treated like a dollar sign and not a patient I would recommend Spicewood Dermatology. P.S. I gave it one star because I had to. =)

Pros: Getting Scheduled quickly

Cons: Unorganized staff, untrained staff, unprofessional

I was seeing Dr. Jeng, but ended up on the PA's schedule. I went ahead and saw Jill Hude rather than reschedule. Ms. Hude examined me and said she would review the records and tell me what her recommendations were. She had the assistant come in and tell me what procedure she recommended rather than spend that extra couple of minutes to explain it herself.

I had been a patient for a few years and was disappointed to find out that I had been having unnecessary procedures, no doubt because procedures, like biopsies, bring in more money than office visits for monitoring a skin condition.

There are brochures and products in the waiting room that makes me think this practice is more for those who want cosmetic procedures. I would look elsewhere for medical care.

Pros: Prompt in sending records when I requested them, parking is good

Cons: Unnecessary procedures, physician's assistant substitued for board certified dermatologist

I called to get an appointment, but all that was available was with the PA, as the Doctor was getting an influx of kids back from college. The office staff were polite and conversational, very friendly women, and I was seen within 5 minutes of completing paperwork.
One thing that annoyed me was how arrogant one patient was after they arrived more than an hour late and got emotional and angry with the front office staff when they informed him they were booked and couldn't accomodate. I came from San Marcos, and this man just came from south austin, and I got to my appointment on time!
I would reccomend Dr. Jeng OR Jill Hude, both are friendly, very professional and caring. The office staff are a blast, very nice and funny, and seem to focus in on whatever your inquiry is with great attention.

Just visited Spicewood Dermatology for the first time and had a great experience. Dr. Jeng was great and really took the time to understand my problem and recommend a course of action to help correct it, she never made me feel rushed and try to hurry me out like some doctors do. The nurses and office staff were polite and attentive. They got me into a room on time and made the checkout process easy and painless. I would recommend this doctor to anyone.

I decided to try Spicewood Dermatology because it was closer to my home. Big mistake. The office staff seems very unorganized and confused. It takes forever to get an appt. The first time I booked a 4:45 appt, and called to tell them I was running late because of traffic. I was rudely informed that if I didn't arrive by 4:50, they would lock the front door and I would have to reschedule. So I booked it to be there on time, and when I arrived they had nothing prepared for my appointment. I didn't leave the office until well after 5:30. Checking out is a nightmare. The front office staff (minus maybe one girl) has not been trained properly, if at all. They tried to bill me some outrageous amount when it clearly says on my insurance card that I only owed a $20 copay. The office manager came out to speak with me, and he was just as confused as his staff!! I don't even work at a medical office and I think I know more about insurance than he did. Never ever will I book an appt there again. Go to Dr. Feasel at Ladera Park Dermatology!! She is super sweet, her staff is efficient, and they actually call in prescriptions for you! Imagine that!!

My overall experience has been disappointing her. It is hard to get someone on the phone, takes days (if you are lucky) to get a nurse to call you back. And it is against their policy for the doctors to call you back. One good thing here is that you can get an immediate appointment. But that should say alot too.

I have not had a good experience with Spicewood Dermatology. I really liked my doctor who moved over to this clinic, so I followed her. I had been seeing her for 3 years with her being at this office for 1 year. The staff is not pleasant to work with. On two occasions when I called, I was told that they were too busy and I would have to wait a couple of days. I had to call mulitple times to get a nurse to call me back and had to constantly follow-up on my prescriptions. Also when I received samples, they were expired. i loved my doctor but due to the experience I have had, I have gone elsewhere.
