I went to see Dr. Rothschild after going to the ER for severe pain. I had not slept in 5 days because of the pain and no drugs were working. Because of some ongoing health issues, I could not do an MRI or X-Ray. As I was trying to explain the situation to Dr. R, he looked at me like I was an idiot - even though the ER doctor completely understood the situation. At the end of the appointment, I asked Dr. R whether he would recommend physical therapy and his exact answer was "Did I not make my recommendations clear? If I would thought physical therapy would help, I would have recommended it." Does a patient not have a right to ask questions? My father is a physician and answers all sorts of questions with understanding - knowing that there is a lot of information out there and the patient wants to be well-informed. After I told him that I thought PT was common for patients diagnosed with a pinched nerve, he then replied "So now I have to defend myself against Google?" Talk about lack of empathy for patients! He was utterly rude and I would stay away from him with a ten-foot pole.
