When I got to my appt as usual a long wait, the room is crowded and the receptionist can hardly speak a word of english, there was some blond lady there yelling and cussing and then when I finally got to see the doctor his dog blocks the way and you have to walk over the dog, the doctor was yelling at his staff the office smelled and then when he comes in to see you he is so rude....I am going to find me another doctor who is not so rude to his staff and his patients, all kept talking about was when he was in the navy and he took care of the presidents.....I am so glad I only had two appts. I feel sorry for the staff, the doctor is rude!!!

I first went to Dr. Lewis for high blood pressure, hormone replacement therapy, thyroid, weight loss and depression. After an extensive discussion, he ran more tests in one day than I think I have ever had altogether. My tests results were back in three days and so was I. Dr. Lewis started me on mild BP meds that he said was only temporary until I lost a little weight, he put me on natural bio-identical hormones instead of "pregnant mare's urine" that I had been taking for years, adjusted my thyroid medication, put me on a diet I can live with and told me he wanted me to let the new medication "kick in" before we did anything for the depression which was mild at the time. It has now been two months since I first went to Dr. Lewis and I feel fantastic. My weight is down, I am off BP meds. and I have no depression at all. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Lewis to anyone that wants to be totally cared for by an extremely dedicated experienced doctor.

On Feb.2, 2009 I had my first and last appointment with Dr. Lewis.I was origionally refferd to Dr. Lewis by my primary physician for Thyroid condition of several years. I was completely disappointed and quite appalled by what I witnessed. When the nurse opened the door to call me back to the exam room, right inside the door lay a huge dog. I not only felt threatened, not knowing what to expect from the animal as I had to walk past but I was also concerned about the sanitary conditions of the office. This posed a health threat for patients with animal allergies. A doctors office is not the place to care for an animal. It was approximately 1hr. and 15min. from the time of my appointment until Dr. Lewis finally walked into the exam room. He appeared as if he was pre-occupied and turned his back to me for most of the time. He was very rude, unprofessional and his overall demeanor was absolutely arrogant. He kept trying to impress me with his recent trip to Europe instead of concentrating on the reason for my visit, my health. Each time I tried to ask him a question he would walk out of the room while I was still asking and return with a photo copy paper and tell me to read it and I would better understand, that was my answer! I still can't recall him ever answering a question and I only had time to ask a few. Before even finishing the exam / consultation, he asked me to go to his office across the hall and motioned me in. As I sat, Dr. Lewis came through the door with a camera trying to take my picture, without having my permission first or even informing me as to why the picture was being taken. He then left the office for about another 10-15min. before returning and I could hear him in the hallway taking care of several other patients. As I sat in his office, which was in total disarray and included two large dirty dog dishes on the floor, I saw syringes laying on the doctor's desk in plain sight and reach of anyone, (there was a patient with a young child I had seen in the waiting room). Here comes Dr Lewis rushing back in, snaps my picture and then starts to tell me what he??s going to write me a prescription for! I am still waiting for the consultation part of my visit! When I ask him for the side effects of what he is going to prescribe he gets very argumentative and says: ??What side effects? We are dealing with a hormone here, not a drug!? I asked again, what can I expect from taking this prescription? And doctors response in a very rude and condescending manner and with much aggravated hand gesturing was, ??Are you questioning me? What is there to understand? Without this, your future is a stroke or heart attack and you could die! ?? At this point I decided to conclude my visit and I got up and walked out!
This was the worst doctor/patient relationship that I have ever encountered in my life! I left feeling frustrated, irritated, degraded, confused, upset and very disappointed. I would not want any other patient to be subjected to such an awful experience. I am making this statement in an effort to help others and for the possibility that someone will take notice.

Dr. Lewis is my diabetes Dr.

He is very knowledgeable in his field, and answers all my questions about the disease.
He ran all the tests when I was first diagnosed. the nerve tests on my feet were done right away. He wasted no time.

He also was able to send me to a general surgeon that repaired a hernia that no other Dr. found in over 3 years.
He is very educated in the diabetes and makes me feel comfortable that it is treatable and can be controlled.

I do recommend Dr. Lewis to others. Excellent.
