.

Dr Eggen was my pediatrician when I moved to Palm Bay from Miami in 1990. I was 5 at the time. Around then I started getting terrible head pain and after some tests was diagnosed with a baseball sized arachnoid cyst on the right temporal lobe of my brain and was later diagnosed with a mild form of hydrocephalus. I had to have many brain and brain related surgeries throughout my childhood and the rest of my life. He was always there for my needs that the neurologists couldn't adress or it was more convenient for him to treat. When I was really sick with my neurological conditions and had to come in for emergencies, he would just have me come in without an appointment and would make the next person in line wait while he treated me, understanding that my condition was life threatening. I'm sure any other parent would understand and want that kind of treatment for their child if they happened to be extremely ill. If he was in with another patient, he would let me go back to a vacant room and let me lay down on the exam table and turn off the lights so it wouldn't hurt my eyes. Dr Eggen went above and beyond the call of duty and even treated me after I turned 18 for a short period of time until I was comfortable with a regular doctor. When I have children of my own, if he's still practicing and in the area, there is no doctor I would trust more with their care. Best doctor in the world in my opinion!
