Totally trust this doctor! When I went into labor, he arrived at the hospital 30 minutes after they called to notify him I was there. It was 2:30 in the morning. Normally my labors are 12+ hours. Not with this one. He knew exactly what to do in my situation and how my body was progressing along. I had the baby in 6 hours! He hung around the hospital the entire time and checked on me multiple times. My previous doc never did this and never came in during my night laboring, not even to break my water. Dr. Dewey made this my best delivery ever and my fastest healing. I really like how he puts his patients first. You can tell he has had a lot of experience. I feel that I can totally trust this doctor! I would highly recommend him to anyone!

I have been with Dr. Dewey for the past 21 years. Ever since my first visit I knew he was the best. He is so caring and open and knowlegable. He has the best bedside manner of ANY doctor I have ever been to. We have a genetic problem in our family and he was so good to make sure I was referred to a specialist to check for it. I have had two children vaginally following a C-Section with absolutely no complications due to Dr. Dewey. I have referred several of my relitives and friends, and even my children to him and they all feel the same way I do. He is the greatest!!!

I totally disagree with both of the previous reviews and I don't agree with someone making a judgment on Dr. Dewey because of the way another doctor in his office works. We have had both of our children with him and he is amazing. With our first child he explained everything to us and answered all of our questions. He has always made sure my wife was comfortable with all the procedures and decisions. His bed side manner was excellent and I appreciated how honest he was. I would recommend him to anyone.

We did not have experience with Dr. Dewey himself, but with another of the Doctors in his practice; Dr. Broadbent. Dr. Broadbent was on call for my wife's OB, George Gurley whom we highly recommend. Dr. Broadbent performed a C section and tubal ligation on my wife.

His bedside manner was non existent. He seemed very perturbed that I was in the operating room, and ignored my wife entirely during the procedure. He made the largest incision I've ever seen on a Cesarean, almost 8 inches long. It was also poorly sewn up, a year later parts of her scar are still nearly 1/4" wide. Also after having decided months earlier with our real doctor that we were going to have my wife's tubes tied, Dr. Broadbent took it upon himself to say that he wasn't going to do it, because he didn't want to do it. Before he started the surgery I had to walk up to the guy and tell him that he had no say in the matter, as he was no asked for a consult, but only to perform the surgery because our selected doctor was out of town. He grumbled and begrudgingly agreed to do it.

Lastly, Dr. Dewey's office is incredibly disorganized. We owed them $45 after what insurance payed out, I started getting phone calls from "Dr. Dewey's office". When I would say that I had no idea who Dr. Dewey was, the response I'd get is "well, you owe him this much for services performed." Then they sent bills from Southwestern OB-GYN which had no reference to either Dr. Dewey or Dr. Broadbent. Then we started getting phone calls from a guy in their office early on Sunday mornings who would ask us to call him on his cell phone, and then never answer or reply to messages. I had to figure out for myself through internet searches that Dr. Dewey and Broadbent practice together at Southwestern OB-GYN.

Altogether, I was no impressed by the skill of Dr. Dewey's colleague and I am still severely annoyed with their business office.

I will not recommend this man. I believe his intentions are good (I don't think he's malicious), but it is my opinion that his practices are sadly behind the times.

He regularly schedules unnecessary inductions of his patients for his own convenience.

He also gives lateral episiotomies. These differ from traditional episiotomies, and the practice of this kind of episiotomy is referred to as "barbaric" by my current provider.

His bedside manner leaves much to be desired, and his interest in answering questions or educating his patients about their pregnancies seemed to me to be nearly non-existent.
