Could not see the doctor on several occasions, could only see the assistant. Twice I called to make an appointment specifically with the doctor and made sure it was with her. However when I got to the office, only the assistant was available. By the way, the assistant was excellent, but did not have the training and knowledge of the doctor. The staff were extremely unhelpful in getting records to my new rheumatologist.

Totally disagree with the negative comments about this doctor. I had to wait several months to get in to see this doctor but this is common with good specialists for your initial visit. I was not disappointed. I had done a lot of Internet research and knew that I had more than fibromyalgia. I was so happy to find a doctor who actually wanted to treat patients with this condition. I cannot tell you the number of doctors who do not want to treat this condition or call it depression without any understanding of the pain and that maybe the pain causes situational depression when you cannot work or do activities at the level you used to do. I needed help in adjusting my meds and my new PCP (I recently moved and had to find a new PCP), said I knew more about my meds than he did. Kind of scary. Also other doctors prescribed level of exercise and PT that was inappropriate for the other condition which had been missed by all doctors. Dr. Romanick was spot on with the additional diagnosis. I finally feel that I have found someone who has the knowledge to deal with my problems. Wish I had found her years earlier. I have no problem seeing Nurse Practitioners for follow up. I find many of the good specialists in the area use this level of practitioner on their team and have had very good results since the NP is in constant communication with the MD and has typically received extra training related to the MD's approach to the speciality.

My Neurologist recommended I see Dr. Romanic years ago. I have found her and her staff great on several levels. She's a smart lady, she is well regarded by 4 of my other doctors, thorough and current. As a chronic pain, older patient with several diseases, I'm not a favorite to doctors. Most doctors would rather not be bothered-too many problems. At this office, I always leave feeling with more hope than when I arrive. Over the years, my health keeps deteriorating, but Dr. R always finds new ways of treatment to meet my needs. When I've been referred by her, they're always excellent choices. She is as concerned for me as a person too. She is interested how my emotions affect my physical condition. She's caring. She looks at the whole package: nutrition, recommending proper physical therapy as well as prescriptions. I have found her quite personable (I like doctors I can share a laugh with)! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.waited for nearly an hour and forty five minutes with no apology and no explanation.she started off ok but the veneer cracked the longer the appointment went on.she is arrogant, dismissive, unethical and narcissistic.I truly wish I had read the reviews online before making the appointment, it was useless, and I wish I could demand my insurance not pay her, because she doesn't deserve one cent for the way she treated me.front desk staff was gossiping about a coworker and patients. Romanick is truly a piece of work and if I can stop even one person from giving her business and further inflating her ego and bullying patients, then I can sleep better at night and live with my stupidity in not checking reviews first.

you'll never wait less than 45 min. I've only actually seen the Dr once for about 5 min, always been an assistant for other visits. No follow up. Took them two weeks to let me know I had abnormal bloodwork and wouldn't see me for a follow up regardless of the fact that it was due to medication prescribed by her. will never ever go back here.

I wish that I had read some of these reviews before wasting my time with this "doctor". I was referred to her by my dermatologist. It took me 2 months to get an appointment, but that is common with new patients and busy popular doctors. I filled out all of my new patient paperwork and arrived a few minutes early for my appointment. There are no medical assistants there, the receptionist puts you in the room. I waited 45 minutes to see her. I almost walked out because I was tired of waiting. When she did finally come in, there was no acknowledgement of her making me wait. She spent all of 15 minutes with me and gave me a diagnosis before even having any lab work done or anything. I will never go back here and I will make sure that I let everyone know not to see her. I got my insurance statement and she had billed $400 for that 15 minutes of her time! It's total robbery as far as I'm concerned! DO NOT SEE HER! SHE WILL ROB YOU BLIND!

I don't understand some of the negative comments. This is the first doctor's office I haven't dreaded going to. The atmosphere is very nice, calm and friendly. The staff is great. I have NEVER had to wait more than 15 minutes. I always go first thing in the morning and that probably helps. But Dr. Romanick's website makes it very clear that there may be waits at times and that YOU will receive that same attention when warranted.
Yes, Dr. Romanick is very down to business. If you want to sit and chit chat or if you're a hypochondriac then don't even bother. Dr. Romanick and staff are very busy and will give more than adequate amount of time to real problems. If all of your tests come back negatie and you still expect to be treated like a queen then move on. Dr. Romanick spent a lot of time with me on my first intake visit and discussed things with me that I had never ever been told by my family doctor.
I was concerned when I was turned over to the ARNP. My concerns were unwarranted. I was very impressed with her and am happy to see her on every visit. I've never had a problem with follow-up or reaching the doctor or ARNP when needed. Then again I'm not a hypochondriac and I won't waste their time.

I recommended this Dr to another friedn who actually had a completely different experience than I did. She advised that Dr. Romanick was very thorough and spent a lot of time with her. When I arrived for my appointment, they were running an hour behind. I was told this is usually the case on Thursday's. However, when I advised that I had another appointment scheduled that I was going to be late for they seem annoyed. I was then rushed through my appt (first appointment as well) and only saw the Dr for a breif moment. My appt was with the ARNP and although she was very knowledgable in what they believed I had, I would ahve liked to discuss this with the Dr.

When it came time to book a follow-up appointment, the staff was not sure if it were to be booked with the Dr or the nurse. Rather then ask both who kept walking by, they booked it with the nurse and said they would ask later and call me. I provided my name and number however, have not yet recieved a call back. My appt. is in three days to go over my test results.

Waiting an hour to see the Dr is unexceptable, especially when I took off work and hour and half early. However, I know if I had shwon up late, I would have been biled for a cancled apt. I would appricate that she not over book her clients.

I have read the other comments and feel I need to offer my own experience because it is so different. Dr. Romanick was highly recommended to me by my physician. While I was left with no doubt about her definite competency in her field, her bedside matter was cold and unapproachable. I left without having asked questions I needed to ask and she does not allow spouses in appointments with her (spouses can only come in if you see the nurse). My husband is a critical part of my health care and helps me to sift through information at a time when I am overwhelmed with multiple diagnoses and information. For a doctor not to understand this is rather incredible to me. Although Dr. Romanick states that this is so she can get to know the patient, she will not get to know the patient if the patient continually chooses to see a nurse because they want or need their spouse with them.

The staff is courtesy and professional, although there is continually long wait times if you call in over the phone. When I called about my medical records (after waiting on hold for over 10 minutes), my call was answered, but after I stated what I was calling about, I was again put on hold again (for over 10 minutes), which made me feel like I had been relegated to the bottom of the list because of the nature of my call. Each time I was in the office, it was very subdued and didn't seem to have much warmth or positive energy about it.

Prepare to sit for hours before being seen. If your appt. is at 3 dont be surprised if you do not get seen at 5pm and have to be rushed out without being properly seen. Dr. is rude and tactless to patients as well as her staff. I understand a Doctors need to take their time with each patient, but also good time management is also appreciated when all of us have busy lives. Horrible.

Dr. Romanick is supportive and takes the time to explore possible underlying issues with general lifestyle. I went to her with a load of symptoms and working together we have dealt with them. Some of my solutions were simple (some physical therapy and supplements) and others were more conventional (seeing another specialist for an issue that I thought was unrelated but turns out wasn't), but she helped me through exploring my options. She is great and her staff is polite and supportive.

Dr. Romanick takes the time to talk and explore a wide variety of avenues. Where some might just prescribe pills and leave it at that, she works with the patient to address possible lifestyle changes to improve quality of life and relieve symptoms. She seems genuinely concerned that I get the treatment that best fits me, instead of trying to make my symptoms fit a prepared treatment plan. This has resulted in addressing specific symptoms over time, which allows results to be more easily visible, but in the long run I am much better off and the combination of solutions has resulted in a big improvement. I heartily recommend her and her polite, supportive staff.

I was quite pleased with the heath care and service I received at Dr. Romanic's office. Both the Dr. and her staff have been wonderful. I was properly diagnosed and an effective treatment was administered. They worked well with my insurance so they are a good deal. I would recommend them.

If you have a serious and/or rare rheumatologic condition, Dr. Romanick is well worth the wait. I've spent several hours in her lobby, and I understand what people mean when they refer to her "arrogance." (I take it as a bright and driven person who doesn't make a lot of small talk b/c she's focused on the matter at hand, but I can see how her "bedside" manner could be taken as arrogance.) However, once Dr. Romanick is focused on you, she gives you 110%. She spent a lot of extra time not only diagnosing and treating my rare autoimmune condition, she went above and beyond to get my insurance to cover treatments that were at first rejected. She also spent more than an hour checking on me and consulting with hospital staff at Overlake while I was getting inpatient treatment the Saturday evening before Christmas, none of which she billed for. If you don't need a specialist, the wait time probably isn't worth it. But if you need someone who is well-trained, meticulous and darn good at what she does, I recommend Dr. Romanick whole-heartedly.

Dr. Romanick and her staff take plenty of time to learn the patient's concerns, and they are persistent in their efforts to continue to improve health and well-being.

Before I saw her, I got a letter from Dr. Romanick's office warning me not to be late and to call if I had to cancel, or else. In return I had to wait over an hour to see her. My questions were barely answered--when I asked her about a certain medication's side effects she told me she would not even consider that at the present time, not until her tests were completed--and I was given hundreds of dollars worth of tests to have done plus x rays and given what seemed like a scary potential diagnosis. She told me that it would take at least a couple of weeks to get the results and at that time she would let me know what to do. I waited but she never called me. Finally, after three weeks, I called her office and was told, with total unconcern, that they did not think they needed to contact me because the tests were normal. Respect works both ways. I was sitting at home, scared to death about this diagnosis, having been told specifically to wait. Well, after following her numerous rules and waiting for her and listening to her, I think she could have taken five minutes and called me with my test results. She never even followed through to help me get to the bottom of the problem! It was like she figured those tests were normal so she was done with it. It was off of her radar screen so forget me as a person. I had to end up going to another doctor, who found out what was wrong with me--and bingo! the problem was from the very side effects I had suspected! If she had bothered to listen to me, her patient, we might have gotten to the bottom of it collaboratively, working together, with much less cost to me, both financially as well as emotionally. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone unless they have a very specific rheumatalogical issue and do not mind long waiting room visits and respect which is all one-sided.

I have been a patient of doctor Romanick for about 10 years now. She is very personable and an expert at what she does.

I once had a shoulder / clavicle dislocation playing basketball and was misdiagnozed at the ER. I was practically crying the whole way to the ER and at the ER - couldn'tmove my whole left side (I was a 30 years old, 6'2" and 185lbs) and was given Tylenol! The X-Rays they took were rushed and didn't show any break. A couple of days later I saw her still in pain and she supervised the X-Rays herself and found that the clavicle bone was severely entrused in my chest and was resting on top of the big artery causing pain every breath I took. She was enraged and immediately sent me to Dr Castle a surgeon who with Dr Romanick really saved my life.

I have been with Dr Castle and Dr Romanick ever since. I had several other injuries and illnesses and I would recommend either without hesitation.

I really like Dr. Romanick. She is very personable and always explained things to me so I could understand them more clearly.
Yes, she is busy, but worth the wait. She had my condition diagnosed almost immediately, where other doctors gave me the run around, had me doing therapy, and drugs, not hitting on the real problem. I was so happy to finally find out what was really ailing me. Dr. Romanick really does know her stuff.
My only complaint is that sometimes you get a nurse practitioner instead of her. And for me, if I have an appt, I want to see the real deal... not a fill in... But, even the ones I have seen, are very good , I just prefer to see Dr. Romanick...

The staff is very professional, but very polite. Before you go in for your first visit you are mailed a very thorough questionaire for you to fill out so that the doctor has a complete knowledge of your history. She is by far the best specialist I have seen. She takes plenty of time so that you understand the problem and she send reports to all your physicans so they are in the loop. Her staff is polite, coureous, and just plain nice. She is a credit to the medical profession.

Dr. Sue Romanick is by far the best specialist I've visited. Rheumatology is her specialty and she diagnosed and treated me with ease. Her knowledge and explanations are far better than anyone else I've seen. She often gives you non prescription ways to improve your conditions and ease your pain. She invites your spouse or partner to come to appointments with you so they can understand, too. Her staff is so accomodating and friendly. They truly go out of their way to make things easy and comfortable for you.
